And? In that story, it points out that these situations are happening all over the country, including Littleton, colorado, and upper middle-class suburb of Denver...

yes but the conversation here was about detroit not littleton and the point that apparently you can just walk in someones house throw up a picture or 2 and maybe fix a faucet or something and you can now say the house is yours with little to no recourse. the woman had no lease or atleast no proof of a lease. if thats the case lemme head up lakeshore drive and pick a mansion overlooking the water that i'd like to call my own.

1. Exactly my point. Why post that in the Detroit thread? You're trying to make Detroit look bad because of this, meanwhile it's happening everywhere in the country.

2. Lakeshore drive is not in Detroit. Have fun walking into houses in grosse pointe and st. Clair shores and getting arrested for squatting.

i don't have to make detroit look bad. and lakeshore drive runs from downtown to the tip of the thumb. only difference is it's called jefferson except through the grosse pointes. and before i start getting called a racist suburbanite or whatever keep in mind i grew up in detroit -6 and hayes area and half the people i work with which are black and some of my best friends still live there but are working on moving out or have moved out. by the way not trying to start an argument or piss anyone off was just posting something i saw and thought was completely outrageous. and you r right if i were to try and squat in one of the pointes or scs i would be arrested on site but apparently it's all good in the D which was i guess the original point i was trying to make by posting the story

And again, my point is... That story you posted said this is a problem all over the country, including upper middle class neighborhoods. So shut the fuck up. It was an unnecessary post. And yes it's called Jefferson in Detroit and there are no mansions there to squat in, which is why I said that. Glad you grew up in Detroit and have black friend's, you must be very proud of what you've accomplished despite what you obviously see as obstacles in your life.

Hey did anyone notice that the squatter is a write-in presidential candidate? Has Detroit found a future leader? You are welcome nation ;)

crack happens elsewhere and so does homelessness and poverty and murder and so on. read the original title of the thread. it's not titled "enter flint at your own risk say police" or "littleton" now is it? which is why i posted the link. sorry to have obviously offended anyone. not my intention. and i'm not sure how anyone got that i "obviously" saw growing up in detroit as an obstacle. had plenty of good times and plenty of not so good times. unfortunately the city has gotten far worse than it was 15yrs ago. yes i'm glad i got out instead of got dead or got arrested. i will kindly "shut the fuck up" now.

Why is modern music so terrible? What the hell happened... almost every major genre of the 90s and before has gone straight down the gutter in the last decade... even electronic music...
