Emergency Flush Question

So I will be doing an emergency flush by cutting the stem at the soil level and then adding it to a pot of water with a bubbler. Is there any difference between cutting the whole plant at the soil level or simply cutting the branches/bud sites that look ready and then placing those in water? Would the flush still work the same way?

why flush if in soil????
She's grown in MG soil with time released nutes so there is no way to do the normal soil flush. The only alternative is to do an emergency flush. So can I cut branches as they become ready for harvest or is that somehow different from cutting the whole plant at soil level?

If ur harvesting there's not any nutes left...in soil or in the plant if u let it fully mature....ur supposed to let it "fade" out n use up all the available nutes...hence the yellow leaves round harvest.... that's what's supposed to happen anyway

Yea but with MG Soil it has time released nutrients and there is no way to know whats still left (the leaves are not yellow but the trichomes are ready to go on top buds). Either way, an emergency flush ensures that all nutrients have been properly flushed out. Do you know if it makes a difference if I cut branch by branch instead of chopping at the soil level?

I mean just tell urself....we tried to tell u what's up but ur trying to tell us what's up....I have plenty of mg experience....if uve vegged for a month n flowered for 8weeks or more....no nutez left.

Ok but there are nutes left. Bloom nutes have been added so there are nutrients currently in the plant. I am not trying to tell you whats up, I am trying to get an answer to a specific question which you are avoiding. My question is not if there are nutrients left in the plant, my question is with regards to the method of cutting down the plant IF an emergency flush were to be used. Cutting branch by branch vs cutting the whole thing.

there are lots of thread on what's best in the "Harvest & Curing" section....... some say to cut/hang the entire plant, other say to cut/hang one branch at a time.. it's a personal choice

IMHO...in a high humidity environment, cut/hang one branch at a time (dries better/faster).....if you have good humidity levels and the plant is not huge, then cut/hang entire plant

Do you think that cutting branch by branch would cause unnecessary strain on the rest of the plant? I am on a bit of a time limit and don't want to slow the growth of all the lower bud sites just because the top bud looks ripe. For the top bud, the trichomes are milky and some are turning amber. But all the lower buds still look they have clear trichomes.

crazy....but who am I to tell people what they should or shouldn't be doing...

Personally, I try to keep it simple....so maybe ask yourself....do I really need to flush just because I used MG
What if bloom nutes were also added up until a week ago?

plants don't poop out nutrients, the reason they turn yellow and fade at the end is because people pump them full of bloom nutes and then starve it for 2 weeks and then tell everyone else to do it. If it is balanced and fed properly until the end, it should be green and healthy and LEECHING is not necessary. What you plan on doing by cutting and putting into water is not going to nothing but waste your time.

The Bloom nutes go to the plant building a big bloom, but the plant builds the bloom, it does not end up in the bud, 'urban toker legend'

If you are on a time restriction, just skip the flush phase all together! Saved you some time there...

Read sticky on "Harvest and Curing" A perfect cure every time...

Ok thanks for the tips! I keep hearing that with MG and additional nutes I will get a harsh smoke that tastes like chemicals...But I think I will go through the harvest and curing section before doing anything drastic just yet.

What time difference would it be to cut every branch off the main stock in comparison to just cutting the stock......I doubt a few minutes would make a difference?

I was thinking I cut the top bud site today, and then leave the rest to grow for a few more days. That way more light can reach the lower bud sites which still seem to have clear trichomes.

yup, some people do that, if the cola looks ready and the lower ones are not
