mygirls what you are suggesting is flat out wrong.how you can state as fact that 18/6 uses less power then 12/12 when they both go on and off equal times is baffling.if you could enlighten me how this is please do.remember a lot of people see your rep and then take this comment as the gospel.

Trapper! Wow, I remember your first grow a few years back. We started up about the same time. Mygirls apologized and we've all moved on already. Just a little brain fart.

WOW. Everything in my house is electric. i have 3 kids also. The most mine has been while growing is 450 in the winter. My grow room uses about 1500 watts. My hot water heater has 2 elements that equal 7500 watts. My baseboard heaters are 1500 a piece. There are 5. Pretty hard to believe it was 800. What do they charge per kilowatt hour? The most I have used is a little under 3000.

Not to mention TV, computer running 24/7, electric stove, fridge ect... How much was your bill before the grow? must have been around 400-500 hundred a month.

wut are these retarded 1 liners, make the thread annoying to read, misterbishi?

anyways, brick im runnin 1k of hps...but 2 ballasts, a 400hid and a 600....+ airpumps, 4 fans, 180cfm exhaust squirl fan, and bout 200wcfl. My bill stays around 200hundred.monthly. that includes 2 kids, me and a old lady, with heating, and all the other shit ie Hot H2o. i guess im fairly fortunate tho, house is newer. i would have to mention those of us with larger bills usually is from outdated windows and heating systems. like many have mentioned a 10,000btu a/c is going to tax the bill more then most of our stealth grows. altough that doesnt factor large multiple K grows with a.c. hell my old trailor ran 400 a month in gas and electric w.out anysort of grow op.

is no one chilled tonight?

I am guessing by regulate usage you mean you want it to look uniform throughout the day??? But aren't all the lights drawing way more power than the rest of your normal electrical appliances... What I mean is I think it would look pretty weird if you used most of your power between 8pm and 8am... most people use next to no power overnight.

And if you aren't doing this legally, that is a lot of power to explain, especially if 3 months ago you used 1/10th the power.

Good luck getting that bill down, or moving product to pay (legally of course, because we are on RIU).

next thing you know someone will say a 1000w digital ballast uses less power than a 600w magnetic....

ohhhh and on this topic, I do believe the electric companies throughout the US are serial rapers..so if any1 has a grow partially ran on hydroelectricity, or solar, anything off the grid id really like to see it get posted here!

I am in the process of adding solar panels the the entire southside of my roof. Expensive as hell, but I figured to have it pay for itself in 2 yrs. and 8 months. Then, after it has paid for itself, I'll just be saving, and saving. I wish we didn't have height restrictions, or I'd build a damn wind generator, maybe two. one on each corner of the back yard. The loud noise caused but the propeller tips should keep my neigbors happy as well......
