i already did, so blitzed minds must think alike. i was going to flip the fridge over to get max floor space (the 'ceiling' is flat). i could put a substantial amount of hardware where the compressor used to be; i was thinking either a charcoal filter could go in there, but i also have lots of surface mount space on the inside of the door. if i could get a cool tube in there, i'd put the squirrel cage fan right there, as well as the HPS ballast.

i have a lot of 5 gallon buckets and i can make a large enough reservoir to buffer nutrient concentrations and pH, basically i'm hoping the fridge walls and magnetic seal will keep the odour in.

The current pollitically correct refrigerant is r-134a, which isn't ozone depleting. it makes the garage smell like old fridge, but it evaporates really quickly. i just folded the copper pipes down and hammered them shut to stop the refrigerant from escaping. The compressor contains a really nice, permanently oiled vacuum pump in there for some other project i the future, but i tossed it in the skip. there's lots of fridges to choose from where i'm at, and hardly any of them have dead bodies in them.

Yea thats funny..I was gonna say crimp the lines before u cutum, but some people would have no idea what I was talkin bout...and I have to admit, It made me laugh at the image of someone cutting in and getting a face full of gas haha..

"tossed it in the skip"....never heard that before.... its "pitched in the bush" round here...lol

onthedl0008, May I make a suggestion on your grotorial? I'm referring people to it but it is slipping back because no-one is posting on it. Maybe at this point you could post that it is now ok to ask questions there? If you do I think you will find a lot of action there. People keep asking me about this "new (lol)" method of doing DWC with no feeder tubes, just bubbles.

dragon...any idea how these would do under a Scrog net? I want something that yields well, has a high THC content but is some what social and energizing...some medicinal qualities would be nice. This will be my first grow of this type, so im looking for all the input i can get at this point!

any suggestions on a good strain for my first grow in that RDWC setup?
sorry skunk, I don't know which strain(s) do well with SCROG. I'm growing white widow and from what I've read, the yield is heavy and high in THC, but no idea how it does with SCROG.

All I can tell you is search the grow journals and see what strains people are growing under a screen there....

Yea I guess maybe ur right. It is quite boring haha. But its kinda keeping the theme it was intended to as well.
Just a simple Growtorial.
All the questions have already been answered.
Now we are growing forward.
Im going to update today as well.
I felt the plants where looking a bit sluggish.
So i feed them 20 ml more of Pro grow.
A couple hours later they where reaching for the Cfl's.

Its not a tutuorial by any means.
Thats all been discussed at the front of the thread.
Now we can watch them grow.

Its to simple now. Just watching. And that was the main intention.
After intial set-up and PH balancing there is really not much more to it.
And as we grow i will show that.
And everything it takes to get thier.

Was thinking about outlining my nutes. And giving my tap water specs and such.

Im going to try to liven it up.
But something tells me thats about to happen real soon.
Plants are looking real lush and lively today.
Big fat thick leaves standing str8 up.
Ill update later.
LOL we can all learn here. Im actually trying to get a good feed schedule on these plants as it is.
I think im finding there groove haha..

Be back later.
Peace.

Hey I just wanted to remind you "Bucket Heads" that if and when your DWC fails, the soil will always forgive you! Lol Nice pics guys.

No doubt...soil is pretty redundant, nothing to break down there....other than the grower. But if you had grown that tree inside in whatever hydro method, we'd be smokin dat bitch........

You have to yield bud from it though, not merely grow a plant in a shot glass.

I'm game anytime yous guys is....Or even a red plastic beer cup grow off most yield. C'mon widdit suckah...

Tell ya what, you can do it any way you want ie: DWC, soil or whatever.

Rules:

1) Only 1 single red plastic beer cup
2) only 1 seed....no clones
3) veg time 2 weeks, flower for 8-10 weeks
4) photo proof with start date and finished date.
4b) Photos must have a beer bottle next to it for scale
AND RIU logo for proof that you took it.

sound good?

hey guys can anyone help me on a watering issue...I am planning on setting up a 36 plant dwc, I have all 5 gallons with ball valves, but i am unsure of how to go about the maintenance...I was thinking maybe a 55 gallon drum with a sub pump to hit them with the new nutes from the top since i have a 1/2" tubing adapter on the top to refill, again i never gone with so many buckets so sorry if i sound like an idiot! any input would help thanks guys
