The nice thing about having way more pump then you need, is if you expand the system, your still good to go? All the tech issues aside, this is still a trick set up!! Please let me know how it works out for you. I'm curious to see if its worth the extra plumbing.

I'm about to start my first DWC grow. My seedlings should be ready to go in the bucket in a couple of days. Gonna try white widow....

White widow is a killer strain!
Let her flower for 9 1/2 - 10 weeks and you will be a happy camper.

I havent even started to think about what strain yet really, i have to do a little research and see what will do good with SCROG, Yields well, and has a pretty high thc content... woud be nice to find something with some good medicinal qualities for real. Ill prolly go with some femanised beans so i dont have to mess around with not knowing what i got! any suggestions?

I probably wont be able to officially start my garden till november....technical issues:wall: Gotta keep the man out of my business and things just arnt safe till then. Ill spend these couple months getting things dialed in and as soon as nov. comes everything will be ready to go.
What kind of nute program do you plan on using?

omkara, ya I heard alotta good things about white widow. The place I got the seeds told me the same amount of flower time, but for the last two weeks leave em in darkness?...ever heard this before?

skunk, my thoughts on femmed seeds...not worth the extra cash, My buddy bought a bunch this spring, not exactly sure how many he got but his male/female ratio was still 50/50. No better than un-femmed seeds... I'm sure someone else will tell you different but these are my thoughts. Sorry to hear about your issues with the man, thats tight bro, good luck with that. As for nutes, I will be using Sensi Grow/Bloom. I figured I'll keep it simple for now and just use Sensi, no other supplements. My hydro shop told this will be fine, but I would like to hear what others think?

Ive kinda been playing with the nute thing a bit, I have tomato plants growing dwc so that i can mess around a bit with different products and just get a general grip on how things are going to go when i switch over to MJ. Ive been using GH flora nova grow and bloom, floralicious plus, liquid Koolbloom, and sub culture M and B....I must say that this combo works wonders with the tomato plants. I know that they arnt MJ plants but ive been told that they tend to like similar things? not sure how reliable that statement was but this gives me a chance to try things out without risk till its all good, ya know. Ive really been thinking about going with the GH 3 part along with the same supplements i listed above with the flora nova.. The 3 part defenitly has a proven track record!***I will say thAt i havent found any thing to complain about with the nova except for maybe the fact that its very thick and requires that you mix it very well. Im not that lazy tho so its not really an issue! anyone got any advice or comments?

I never heard of giving your plants 2 weeks of darkness before harvest.
I've heard of people giving their plants 24 hours of darkness before switching to 12/12.

I don't think it's natural for a plant to be in total darkness for 2 weeks, I'm pretty sure it would stress it out. It's a good rule of thumb to kind of mimic nature. 18 on 6 off for veg and 12 on 12 off for flower.

My thoughts were the same...2 weeks of darkness? I even said to the dude behind the counter "You fuckin with me?" he's like.."nah man, seriously!!" He went on to say, "you want to stress white widow before harvest, to induce resin production, to protect the flower". This guy was sharp, he spit out all kinds of biology at me, so it's hard not to listen to what he had to say, you know what I mean?

yeah i know what your saying.
If he's a wealth of knowledge and he has experience with cannabis and the strain your working with... go for it.
Personally i would only try it with one plant so i can compare the finished buds.

guess thats a no? Sometimes i wonder what happened to all the experienced peeps on here that have a reliable answer or at least good conversation for any question you could throw at um? well since i guess no one reading this post knows anything about GH products or at least isent interested in sharing any info they may have...ill try asking about the SCROG net again....anyone out there know about how high i should place he net above the buckets? any recomendations on a good strain for this type of grow?

Try searching for SCROG answers man. Ive seen a million scrog orientated threads here im sure its been covered somewhere. Wish i had a link but a grower recently did a DWC scrog here and it came out real nice.
Im a vertical grower tho. As in I grow tops and trim the bottoms of my plants so any info i tried to give ya would be heresay...
Also no info on the GH other than be carefull ive seen alot of peeps have problems with those particular nutes in DWC. Again i dunno why..
I can say however.. I use Botanicaire Pro series. And have nothing but good to say about um.

Let the force be with u.

you know what...i diddent notice a thing! they tasted quite good when ripened to their fullness! I thought there would have to be some kind of chem taste or something but nothing worth noting.

no shit eh? I thought they would taste bad too...I mean the whole reason people flush their plants before harvest is to get rid of that chemical taste, wonder if its really necessary?

maybe buds different...they sell hydro fruit an veggies in the store...kinda hard to flush tomatoes! i should look into i t for fun?

I don't see why flushing bud would be any different than tomatoes? but i've never tried to smoke a tomatoe before!!!

right, i dunno but it would be real hard to do because tomatoes continue to grow and arnt harvested all at the same time...there has to be something to it, ill ask a friend who does this as a hobby! maybe there is a different process? I just wanted to get use to operating this type of system so i dont care if the tomatoes taste like booty...as long as i can keep em healthy! I just wish i could start my garden now..really i could but i dunno if its worth the risk when i could just wait a couple months and be clear of that worry!
