vocal as in barking, or more so, talking, if you will?
just curious as the neighbors dogs don't seem to bark much at all, and in fact, sandy is much more the barker than those two combined..
and man, she's half lab, half hound, and has the most incredible sniffer of any dog i've ever had.. she smells the front steps and knows when someone has been over...
i also know when we have mail because she'll stop and sniff the mail box if the mail man has been here for the day.. it's really crazy what she can smell..

he'll bark when he wants to com ein at night ....

but vocal as in this

Lol, the bacon grease is put onto their food.

Sorry to hear about your dog. benadryl is great for allergies just make sure your dog has plenty of water, because it will dry them up pretty quick
Well that makes more sense lol.. I remember my aunt use to always pour some bacon grease in the dogs dry food. I thought she was just spoiling them, i would have never thought that would be good for them. they refused to eat plain dry food.

no missing fur, but can see a few fleas on her from time to time.. we comb her with a flea comb, and find a few here and there, but she won't let us get near her with the flea liquid stuff from the vets.. we do use the flea and tick soap stuff, but i think that shit is about worthless tbh..
I ask because my oldest has sensitive skin and also a really bad flea allergy. One little flea has this bastard scratching and biting so bad he loses fur. Definitely not hot spots or mange. I did a homemade apple cider viniger mix of stuff that had him back to normal in no time. Looking for the recipe now.

I spoil my dog, but not really. He's my boy, I add a portion of fresh(nuked rare) beef stew meat to his dry food, and a small portion of what I eat at dinner for him. He'll eat veggies; broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, pea pods, maters, lettuce, etc, pretty much what he sees I eat. The last I mentioned are like a mouthful, not a full meal. He'll eat fruit in small bits. My ex-wife, and mom of the kids, is a veterinarian; she says no chocolate, booze, caffeine at all; no bulk onions, bulk garlic, bulk avocado. Basically, moderation. The very worst thing is to give them all the fat you trim off; pancreatitis is the result and its bad, lots of fat is real badSal15.jpg . And no heavily processed snack food; the stuff we eat with all the chemicals.

when sandy pants was a puppy, if we'd go out and leave her home alone, she's get into all sorts of shit she'd find lying around the house..
ate my $125 bulb one time.. well, not really ate it, but got it out of the box, and pretty much made it unusable, and saying she ate the bulb just sounds funnier.. tums, all sorts of crap..
one time, she found a one pound bag of m&m's that had been laying around for god knows how long since i'm not a big fan of them.. long story short, we get home, find the bag on the floor, and she was acting really funny.. almost liked she had smoked her some crack... we were so worried, i immediately get on the phone with the vet, tell her what happened, she asked how much she weighed, and how much chocolate we think she ate.. i give her all pertinent details, and she just says to keep an eye on her for know, and if she starts puking non stop or has the shits too bad, to bring her in.. i think she puked once, and it is the only time in over four years that she ever shit in the house.. other than that, she was just super cracked out.. couldn't lay still, and just seemed way over stimulated.. by the next day, she seemed to be back to her normal, non normal self..
a friend of my sister's had the same thing happen.. dog ate a bunch of chocolate, she called the vet, and i want to say the vet told her to give the dog salt?? i might be off about this part, but w/e it was the vet told her to give to her dog ended up killing the poor thing.. i'd have flipped if that would have happened when i called our vet, no doubt about it..

Theobromine (theophylline)is the active compound in chocolate and is similar to caffeine. Dogs(and cats) are way, way more sensitive to it than humans. It can cause cardiac arrest in them. Bad juju
yeah, she was definitely way over stimulated. was probably the scariest thing the silly dog has put us through. was so glad nothing really happened to her, other than a few uncomfortable hours..

believe it or not, I do use head and shoulders for my pitbull. My dog has crazy skin allergies and it's about the only thing I trust..

however some disagree with the zinc can be fatal to your dog, but I think these people who make these claims are only going on what the read and not from personal expirence
I didn't know you were having allergy problems?? You know my dog was so bad last summer I could even photo him and now he's perfect.

Lucky I bumped into that girl in the park with a blue pitbull. She knew more than the vet. I followed her instructions to a T and got results immediately. Other dog walkers also noticed the results. I owe her a lot!

I did ask my get about using johnsons baby shampoo and she said the PH was way out. Same with head and shoulders. He has a special dog shampoo now. However it was the food that was the root of the problem.

The little bumps dogs get on their chin...when they pass out ...rub some 100% coconut oil on the infected area. The coconut oil has natural antiseptic in it. Also works on cracked pads...heals em in a jiffy
edit coconut oil is damn near good for everything: flaky skin, rashes, cuts, dry bumps, pads and also a little in food cuts back on shedding and gives em a nice shiney coat
