NO. I didnt find the coffin cut. You can only get it from a clone not from seed. It didnt not come from Holy Smokes. It's KKSC X Diesel.

yah, strawberry fields was a strain that someone was growing in vermont among a field of strawberry plants.. dude grew them for years and years, then the og grower gave kyle kushman some beans of it... it's said he loved the taste, but it was lacking a bit in the high dpt, so he took the strawberry fields seeds and x'ed them to an unknown haze variety, which is what kyle kushman's strawberry cough is, strawberry fields x an unkown haze.. :D
Wrong, it was acquired as a clone. The first story was right. It was a spindly, slow growing clone that Kyle kept in the back of his room when he acquired a grip of new genes from an old school grower. He thought it was gonna be a tosser, but then he got around to flowering it out and it turned out to be very special. It is strawberry fields x haze.

not trying to be a dick, but i was right, it was seeds, not clones... :D

Texas Kid: Strawberry Fields is a 100% indica strain that originated in vermont. around 7 weeks flowering time. Breed for the taste and smell of strawberries, and to be able to finish before the first snow fall in Vermont. High yielder. from what I understand, the strain was given it's name because the breeder grew it for many years in with his strawberry plants, and claimed that the original scent of strawberries was intensified because of the way he grew the plants together. nevertheless, if his theories were correct or not, the worked plants in his field had developed a scent and smell that matched his freshest strawberries to a tee. But the high was not ideal for his prefrences(needed to be more cerebral). He took an outstanding pure haze male and crossed it with his best female flowering in his fields. These are essentially strawberry cough seeds, but not the clone that's going around. The SC pheno clone was found in sorting through dozens of these seeds that were given to kyle kushman. the SC clone yields very heavily from it's mother strawberry fields(which I was told the real deal is now extinct). Expect a minimun of five to six ounces per sc plant, and the real deal finish around 7.5 - 9 weeks depending on what you look at to harvest. each branch must be supported with at least one stalk, or the weight of the buds will cause your limbs and buds to hang on the ground.

Who is Texas kid and why is his story relevant? Okay, I thought I stated this before, I've said it so much I guess I assume I lead with it every time. My crew's clone came directly from Kyle, a couple of older team members were friends with Kyle when he lived in Detroit for a couple of years on his way out west. Check high times issues from '97-'98. You'll see pics of strawberry cough gardens with captions saying they're in Detroit. The story of it being a clone is the story from kyle's mouth, it's the story that I got from an old friend on overgrow who got his cut from Danny danko cultivation editor of high times, the magazine that Kyle has been a contributor to for 20 years.

Kyle sorting through the seeds sure makes the story look better, but it was a clone he got that was a sleeper. Didn't look like it would do much till bloom.

Did you really cut and paste that from a page that has a conflicting story directly under it? And it's from someone people have heard of that wrote for high times... http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Strawberry_Cough/Clone_Only_Strains/
Nebu: regarding the Strawberry Cough heritage, Strawberry Fields x Haze as I was told. Though Kyle (with whom I worked @ HighTimes and who provided the clone & details to me) had said it was a lonely (& lowly, he thought at first) clone, not seeds, which he received. He did not expect much (the 'breeder' had a very small, humble environment) and accepted the clone only to be polite ~ upon arriving home after a fairly long drive he opened the box where he had placed the clones and was suprised to catch the strong aroma of strawberries. At that moment he thought that it just might be something special. (which it really is!)

Kyle sold the strawberry cough clone to Dutch passion in '05.
and with that being said. SC turned to a banana boat POS incomparable to the original cut ... which is why KK's is so sought after ...... this is the one time i have to disagree with ya racer. The story Rare D is talking about came from Kyle's mouth in an interview at the SF cup last year... well, not to mention he claims to know the dude personally.

So Rare D ..... got any info on Kushman releasing any beans?? That was another claim he made at the SF cup .... i've yet to hear any news on it. Unless he's released his line out west and we out east are just out of the loop.

beans fuck beans...how many beans you think u have to go through to find a good pheno.....its the luck of the draw

Cuts from a clone is the only way to roll..... I used to belong to a few sites where you were allowed to trade if you were a trusted member

gotta disagree with ya there colo... i understand clones are where it's at. But i'll always love popping a bean and waiting to see what it has in store for me ... as long as it's stable, consistent genes.. it's usually pretty consistent plants .....
but i do understand that pheno hunting is a pain in the ass..

Both serves their purpose. Unfortunately, cough is not a dominant breeder. I have grown out several cough hybrid seeds. None came out leaning cough. I have a friend that did a breeding project and found a plant that carries the cough smell and flavor, but not the high or growth structure. Real awesome plant to grow. The dad unfortunately throws in a hermie gene though, so the cross herms late in bloom easily. Still worthitthough.

i have a cut of SC that I got almost 3 years ago from a guy I knew up in the Bay Area. I am no longer in touch with him to find out where he got it from, I know he has picked up genetics from Harborside at times and he has also ordered seeds from DP. I haven't yet flowered it either. I do know that when I rub the stalk it has a fruity odor, closely resembling that of strawberries. Not sure if it's a keeper or not.
