Non sequitur.
The main problem with gmo food industry is patented genes and the threatened extinction of honey bees because these patented genes are not only released but actively spread.
This discussion regards modifying and testing, but a conspicuous lack of patents on human genes.

VICE, I believe, recently had a show reviewing a group of scientists that made a complete android. Though quite primitive, it was able to walk and move on its own. Nothing genetically modified, all robotic parts.
A robotic super species is something I would be far more afraid of than a genetically modified super race.
