Whoa never knew there were frisbee golf parks that you had to pay to play. Out here where I live there's just free open parks, like normal parks but with the frisbee golf things, that's a rip especially when you can go play for free .
doobieus i think you should read what i said again. cuz i am pretty sure i said "you DON'T have to pay to play."

In my younger days I played regularly. Without fail, someone would present a doobie on the Third Hole. My score always went up after the Third Hole.

We were old school. Everybody threw the same disc. Every throw. Just like in the old days when hippies were throwing frisbees at trashcans in the park.

I mean the same model. We had our own individual discs. LOL!

The truly weird part of my disc history is that the vast majority of those guys are high priced attorneys now.
really johnnyorganic. thats crazy i still play the hippie way. BONGS,THONGS,AND FRISBEES. and smoking at the third hole??? i would smoke at the first hole then smoke at the 9th then smoke at the 14th. and then another time when we finish.... lol

actually that is what i did like rouhgly 17 minutes ago

I love disc golf, I usually play with three disc in the winter, (driver, mid range, and putter. Spring, summer, and fall I play with an ultimate disc only just because of the different feel of the disc and it's when I'm playing league, and competitive ultimate. I try to play at least twice a week tho.

Heh, it must be a stoner sport. I went once years ago with an old roommate. He found a small bag of weed on the course. I think I still have my disc - if I recall it was some kind of general purpose disc. I should go again. Thanks for reminding me of a cool thing to do outdoors. Cheers.

Yeah I was like "Whaaaaat? Paying for frisbee golf?!", but now that's been cleared up :dunce: lol.

I guess a lot of people don't play a lot of frisbee golf anymore. Wish I still lived in the city I'd go play, this has got me wanting to play again .

Hell yes, it's a stoner sport.
I've been playin for 15 years. Started just throwin a driver.
Then eventualy got a putter, than an approach disc.
Now I have a bag with 6 discs in it. I swore I would never get a bag.

Mostly play in Huntington Beach Ca. Home of the second coarse ever made.
They charge $2 on the weekends. Very busy most of the year.
Bowls at every other hole are mandatory.
Nothing like an early sunday morning bowl out in the park.

We've driven 100 miles down to San Diego to play for an afternoon.

The ball golf coarse down the road had baskets set up for a few years.
Golf cart's were mandatory. average hole was 450 yards par 6.
Most holes needed 4 solid drives to get close. Ouch.

GOOD) but hell yeah i would drive that far to play their. and we have one hole at a course i play it's a power 5 but it's 738 ft to the hole and thats a fun ass hole.

Random interesting things from the Disc Golf Wiki:

ith nearly 3,000 courses in the US and over 3,000 globally. The game is now played in over 40 countries worldwide, primarily in North America, Western Europe, Japan and Australasia.

One of the discs that contains Headrick's(the father of modern disc golf) ashes will be permanently placed on the roof of the center. When asked why this was to be done, by a member of the local media, PDGA Executive Director Brian Graham quoted an old Frisbee adage, "Old Frisbee players are like old Frisbees ... They don't die, they just land up on the roof."

But the wiki doesn't mention stoners. The only people I ever knew that plated were stoners.

I didn't know any of it. But this thread prompted me to read the wiki.

Found it a bit funny, so thought I'd share.
