They've been flowering almost 9 weeks (since pistils have shown).. its supposedly a 8-9 week strain but when i picture them trimmed it doesnt seem it will look like bud normally does.... are these ready? i have been flushing for a week hoping to harvest soon but will wait if needed.

those will fatten up more. give em a week and see what happens. i wouldnt chop now, the absolute worst thing you can do is harvest early.

It is impossible to guess from pictures but I would suggest waiting until most trichomes are fully cloudy with about 10% to 15% amber and then sample a small bud by quick drying it, BUT NOW USING HEAT to quick dry it, and then decide if it is ready to harvest. Keep in mind that when freshly harvested a fair portion of THC is in a non-psychoactive form and during a long slow dry and with proper curing it will then become fully psychoactive.

Many people wrongly assume loads of amber trichomes, and even brown trichomes equate to maximum potency, especially if they take a test sample. What they experience is the increased amount of CBN from broken down THC and CBN causes a confused messed up feeling that is mistaken for high THC potency.

If it were a pure sativa or a highly predominant sativa, like 80% or 90% I would say you have already waited too long to harvest for peak THC potency levels. They peak when the trichomes are still clear so in those cases you would want to harvest when there are about 5% to 10% cloudy/milky trichomes to assure the clear ones have reached their peak. They peak out just before clouding occurs.

You are better to harvest earlier than that and then dry and cure properly and allow the non-psychoactive THC to turn fully psychoactive and have a real high or stone.

white petis during flower dont help you to know if the plant is done or not just rtrying to get pollan still will not start new growth or make buds larger.

Small because bad condtions, too early to harvest, not enough lite is most popular.
