I'm in oregon and last year was my first outdoor grow. My plants had deer trails and fresh shit around them all the time and had no problems. My grow this year has deer all around them. I even had a couple bedded down about 15 feet from my girls when I walked in the other day and no problems so far but thats just me. I just piss every time im there close to the plants.
