DIY with Quantum Boards

The

Reports that the machine generates is accurate and more accurate than a sphere test and separate goniometer test. The reason the IES files are going to work for you guys is because you can mount the light at 18 inches and see exactly how it will spread and the par levels at the canopy on a very easy to use free to download program before you have made a purchase. You would be very surprised how some lights spread at different heights. Basically if I do a test then it eliminates the need to use a hand held par meter as it can all be done on a computer.

Regarding how far field measurements work it is just how the machine works and isn't really relevant to what you guys want to see, it's more of a technical thing about accuracy in a goniometer test. My machine makes it very accurate.
the app that you're proposing would indeed be useful. I was more referring to @Stephenj37826 talking about how they were working on employing measuring techniques that are more accurate at shorter distances than the standard far field goniometer test. If that proves to be accurate, and i have no reason to doubt that it will, then it would be a more helpful data set for me as a user of the light.

I think they have had problems with whoever has done goniometer tests for them in the past and it really common for people to have problems. Half of the tests I do for companies are tests that they have already paid $2000AUD for and they know the results are wrong so they get me to do them again. My machine is really different to a normal goniometer, I know at least 10 horticulture lighting companies have purchased the machines in the USA, not sure who they are though.

We get it you test stuff can we get back to discussing quantum boards?
You could like make your own thread and have it sink or swim on its own merits instead of diluting existing conversations repeating your credentials.

You guys are so sensitive over some simple things, I got my message across to HLG and got an answer regarding country of origin that's all I wanted to do, they will be in contact with me if they want to help people out. You can get back to your discussions now although noone was discussing anything.

If you were actually the professional business person you say you are you would have just asked them instead of trolling their thread I really don't think your going to be getting free lights out of them.

Anyone who has had an interest in this product in the last 12 months, who could be bothered to spend even a few minutes browsing this thread, HLG's website or Instagram account (which I've never even SEEN), should have been able to find those answers themselves fairly easily, imo.

Y u no read.

But sometimes I need quick answers too, I understand. Just seemed like a troll.

Previously they were custom built to HLG's specs. HLG is now making at least some of their boards themselves, here in the USA. Yes they did extensive design and testing themselves before the first boards were released.
Did the person who told you that, recently have part of their brain surgically removed?
Probably someone trying to peddle cheap Chinese copies. Make people think HLG's boards are just re-branded junk boards.

I was told that HLG make the quantum boards in China and the do not have their own pick and place and reflow oven to make these in the USA, is this true? I thought they were a made in the USA product and they conducted extensive research with different spectrums and chips to come up with the configurations they sell.

These girls were under 2 cobs and a V1 QB 324. They were moved and transplanted into 4.9 gallon auto pots, and are under a Mod420 , parts from HLG's former company. 4, Citizen 1825 cobs driven by a pair of HLG240H-C2100b drivers.

The ladies, Sugar Black Rose, will be moved into the QB 304 tent soon, still got a couple plants to chop.

I am in Oz as well. I ordered some 132's last Wednesday from HLG and got the tracking details today(I believe they ship international orders once a week) . I ordered my hlg-320h-c2100a driver from mouser same day and it got here Monday.
A HLG-240H-C2100a from mouser will cost you $100 aud delivered.
Here is a useful clip for putting them together.https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=29&v=bPsNnuuTtrs.
You can get Wago 221's or 222's from Jaycar or any elect store. I just have to get some wire equivalent to the 18awg solid core which I am going to look into this weekend.

Thanks Falcon, thats a good price from mouser . I think I'll get 2 of the 240h 2100a drivers . Does mouser sell the 240v power cord ends to go with the drivers and do you know if they sell the water proof connectors to join the cable? . Cheers

Just buy a $5 extension cord from Bunnings and ctt off the female plug. I would say Jaycar or a electric al supplies shop will have the connections. I am having my driver externaly mounted so I will just solder together and haveheat shrink over the top.
