Go to Lowes and try to buy a metric tape measure.................. I had to order one online. I never could figure out why this country rejected the metric system for as you say, such and archaic one. Kinda like measuring weight in stones.......

As a sparky in Canada, I need both on the tape..so lame
I need to buy tape measures with both for my work life. My DIY light builds use imperial strut/ 1/4-20strut hardware with metric hardware for the boards, AWG cables/wires with european WAGOs. I would love to go pure metric one day.

Wondering how it compares to Atreums 144 board. I like the small form factor.
I’m not trying to start an HLG vs others comparison as I know this isnt the place for that. I’d just like to delve into the form factor, thermal management, and spread mainly vs larger board of similar diode count.
Is HLGs focus going towards smaller boards like this and the QB96?
I love the small form factor, as these can be pretty much thrown into any build wherever you got a few sq inches to spare.

I think the QB96 is more impressive in my opinion. The 144 board is affordable but there's no heat sink included. People must like these mini QB's. My guess is that they're trying to tap into the COB market with these hybrid boards. I most like their QB 324 V2's for combined light spread and power.

Canada gets screwed on this subject. I am constantly googling conversion being Canadian. I know how long 12" 24" etc is but have no idea in cm...
Don't you love those tapes that so nicely have both metric and standard. When you decide to use metric but have to read from the standard side of the tape or vise versa. I never thought of it, is this only a Canadian problem..Dual measuring tapes.

I have seen some nice builds on here which inspired be to build my own fixture. Early last year, I built a couple of 260 fixtures w/288's using 2 24" pieces of angled aluminum( pics a few pages back ). It seemed a simple solution to use the heat sink as the cross support. I recently built 2 96 elites as pictured with a similar concept. It is super solid and quite lite. I used almost the same spacing as HLG's 360 Elite fixture. Super simple to do. You can see I had to notch out the end to about 1/2". Some ridged 1/2" angled aluminum may have been better but I already had the 3/4", so a bit of modifying was in store.

I dumped COBs to get rid of those big, hulking, heatsinks and all that weight. I've got a 4 COB light I'm going to give away after I build a QB to replace it. For me, the QB 96 would be going backwards.

LOL! Yes, I have to keep busy and try new things! Next will be ( finally ) a vertical scrog, and building a QB light for it.
