My new qb 260w is super blinding on low. The ballast is warm to touch. Normal? Super hot on full. Just wanna make sure is ok. Haven’t wiire anything in awhile
I trailed the driver on full blast. got readings of 176 F (~80 C). Yes they get hot, but they have ratings. I believe meanwell data sheets say 90 C is what the case can handle. However if you run them harder they will not last as long.

Look at it like this, the driver draws 260 watts plus its 3-5% loss, and passes on the 260 consumed by the leds. every component in the chain gives off heat.
Drivers can be quite hot.

Loving this 3500k qb132 so far. I have it in a sterilite 2 shelf closet with the meanwell lpf-60-36 driver on the outside. My plants are reacting so much better compared with the Mars reflector I had. Less heat, no loud fan, and super bright with so much more noticable light. So far so good.

I'm running some Urkle x Tahoe OG under my 288 right now and she is super squat. Be interesting to see what the stretch is like. Just flipped to flower after trying to undo some lockout damage I managed to inflict on her.
I locked mine out as well, too much Megacrop. They recovered during the transition. I put the Megacrop down fed them 1/4 tsp Jack BB after 2 weeks of water and epsom salt. Very slight tip burn. They feed very light.
The mom only stretched about 75%, wasn't the most healthy plant though. These cuts have stretched to 200% and counting.
