DIY Samsung LM561C build

S6/AZ bin ... sounds interesting, but as long as I have not seen the packaging myself, I remain skeptical.
They can say a lot!
Don't get me wrong! I hope for you that they are genuine and also the binning is right. This can be easily checked with the Samsung calculator and a voltmeter.
yes, they can say a lot, that is why I said "supposed to be"
I would not be able to check myself, because I won't be able to precisely control temperature and current while measuring voltage.

Have you created the gerber files by yourself or can each one buy them ready to use?
And if so, do you have a link to order them directly?
you can buy the sunboards ready to use MOQ is 50 units on alibaba, I did not create the gerber or the design.
I am building up a number of 200 watt panels with these for veg in a large commercial facility. Happy to share pics of my build once I get a few of them running.

It's also the 96LED "sun board" I bought as far as boards go, 4000k 80CRI, meant to be S6. In fact I've have trusted the company implicitly had I not ordered them. It was only comparing my received boards to my previous strip orders I saw something was up. It's a standard design though, I suspect a clone of the Estonian 96LED boards but with thicker traces. PurpleBuz, can I ask what the datecodes on your boards were? Mine were 20171013.

If you order only a few units and there is not a big deal for them to make, it is very likely that you will be considered an end user. The main thing then is, you get a working light, you can anyway not check the authenticity. Typical mentality and I have already warned months ago to trust these cheap products. Even if you get 10x real diodes, it does not mean they are still genuine on the 11st. batch.
I understand this, thankfully I was investigating LEDs as my hobby is microgrowing, small tents, PC cases, etc; normally I use 315w CMH bulbs for larger stuff. As ever with unknowns, the saying "don't spend what you can't afford to lose" applies and my losses on this were minimal (<150$). I only thought to post when I saw people were dropping 4 figure digits with this company.

Just to lighten the mood, I've attached a pic of what I grew with the most-likely-Epistar-or-worse 24V CV 5630 strip. That's Critical Sensi Star from Dinafem at about 6 weeks flowering under 120W (at the wall) of the strip split between two finned panels of heatsink, an example of the setup is also attached.

barcode says: "20171016" about same date I paid for them.

Yepp, found them. But don't like their dimensions.

I'm looking for 3000°k/CRI90 CC strips like F- or H-Series in 2ft.
Like this, which looks like a M-Series replacements with LM561c, so 24, 48, 96pcs on 1, 2, 4ft. strips:

https://m.alibaba.com/product/60702104730/high-lumens-cri-90-samsung-led.html?spm=a2706.8301176.prew843968.5.4e9297d1Ou6fjw#show_specifications

Maybe I'll mix them with my CRI80 strips if I can get a few. MOQ is only 5 strips but one need to contact the supplier because there is nothing to choose on the website. But that seems normal.

the dimensions worked for me cause I can line up 4 strips on an 8" x 40" flat aluminum sheet and get a nice light distribution. The density of these strips are more similar to the F series.

The other advantage of the sunboard is the pcb is aluminum backed which handle heat better than a plain PCB like the Samsung strips. Makes my job integrating easier and thermally perform better.

80 CRI will give me a lot more light than a 90 cri at a lower cost. Quantity of photons and efficiency still trumps a perfect spectrum.

Posting this here because it tops Google while doing some research into Mufue and potentially fake products. I've used them a few times now, mostly for constant-voltage strip but most recently some aluminium PCBs. All 4000k 80CRI LM561C S6 diodes. Supposedly.

This order has raised some eyebrows. These are the clearest photos I can get from my phone.

There is a very clear difference between the two, despite them both having supposed to have been made with the same LED chips. While I've got no problem with the quality of either in practice I just thought I might let others know that what you're paying for might not be what you're receiving.
The rigid strips your talking about are the same ones I bought, I don't think they are Samsung but are in fact epistar. Not a single pic of samsung lm561c has those little black dots in the diodes except ones that show up on alibaba. I found these which are showing up under epistar/cree.

When Jerry's cobs were tested, their output matched cobs sourced from stateside suppliers. There was a lot of suspicion that Jerry's wouldn't until they were tested.

When @OLD MOTHER SATIVA had his boards tested by @CobKits, they did not perform as advertised.

It is not racism to assume that there will be some dishonesty in a largely unregulated market. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that when I order a samsung product off of arrow or mouser or digikey, a samsung product is what will arrive in the mail. You cannot say the same until you are able to verify the output. Sorry but "my plants like it" is not going to cut the mustard here.

You act like a cornered animal every time anyone says anything contrary to your viewpoint and its not a good look. You dont see @Baudelaire (had samsung strips made) or @OLD MOTHER SATIVA (had strips samsung made) behaving like you when someone mentions that they are going to exercise caution.

Namaste bud. Maybe you should spend a little more time on the yoga mat and take a break from whatever is making you act like an asshat in public.
Bravo!

My latest LM561C flexible strip build using strips I ordered from Roget some time ago.
I am using a 17" x 15" cookie sheet and a piece of 22 gauge steel plate to make the length I needed 27".
The circuit geometry is 7 segments each with 7 diodes of vf 20.3v for a total vf of 142v. I have 14 parallel strings for a total of 2800mA and 686 diodes.
I am using an HLG- 185H-C1400B driver providing approximately100ma per diode at 200w max.
peace

May I ask you the price you paid for?
Firstly I got 180usd for 40mt roll, 4.5usd/mt but then price bumped up to 6.5usd/mt.

5000k 90cri and 3000k 90cri

I forget what I paid, but I bought 2-20mil rolls one of each 3000k and 5000k

I am having Roget make my hard strips for my Lumileds strips of Deep Red, Far Red Royal, and UVA. the price is fair for me.

Took some PAR measurements today. At 100% got a PAR of 167@6" and 130@12".
Impressed.
5000k 90cri and 3000k 90cri

Great information Vegas. Did you get your red, blue and uv Lumileds yet? Are they going to be on flexible strips? What is Roget charging? , these chips are expensive on DiKey.thanks

Thought I update my experience with Mufe ( roget) I hd made 2 big order of 96 led strips ( 300 total strips) from the first batch 2 strips malfunctioned as in a section of 8 leds from each stopped working..I thought it was bad soldering or something, now from the second batch so far 10 strips have blown up ( sections of 8 leds)....i am not even sure if these are samsungs leds or not
the leds were labelled as 90 cri S6 bin which samsung doesnt even make, when i asked about this roget stopped replyig to my emails....initially i thought Roget was a stand up guy with just bad communication and a habit of over commiting ( takes him more than a month to ship out stuff after being paid) now I am having doubts about my assessment of him..doesnt look like a person who can be trusted.
time to find another Chinese vendor

pics please, chips, label and packaging.
what conditions were you running the strips when they malfunctioned ? did they ever light up?

Yep that's about right for Roget. I keep telling ppl to be wary of him and Alibaba.
