the 36% for the Cree red is calculated on radiant Watts.
calculated with LER(about 140 for 630nm) we get
60% for 350mA and
50% at 700mA
same shit happend for white Leds.

So at Tj 50C, the XPE P3 630nm reds are 47.5% efficient at 350mA, 40.8% @ 700mA. Some LED manufacturers use XPE reds but they most likely do not get reels of the P3 bin.

Well @SupraSPL. My first harvest with the new apollo's and the cxa's generated a result of 0.95 gr/watts. Hoping to improve it further. Thanks for your advice and all people in this thread who helped me.
Well done man, that must have been a massive harvest! For reference, with CXA3070s at 800mA, I see 1-1.4 gpw in 4 gal soil buckets, canopy 78-80F and CO2 800-1000ppm. I have been trying to veg up bigger bushes to see if I can increase yield but I am very happy at 1gpw. I always put quality first but Ill take as much yield of that as I can get. I feel that striving for increased yield without sacrificing quality is what will make us the best growers.

Thanks!! Well, this was my second harvest ever, without adding extra ppm. So I am very happy about the result but trying to improve it further without adding extra ppm.

It changes dramatically with dominant wavelength. Lower bins closer to 630nm might more efficient than P3 with λd 620nm. BTW XP-E2 now has P4 top bin.

What kind of gr/watts are people getting from these CXA lights? What do people usually see with HPS? I guess I'm trying to figure out if .95 gr/watt is about average or better than that..

CO2 seems to be working for you.

I think there is a lot more to do with it than just the light. Heck, I've gotten Zero grams/watt.

I would be happy for a gr/watt.

Supra, i have a very basic question for you. what amount of par w per square foot do you recommend for flowering?

For trained plants as opposed to wild bushes.
That is a good question, hard for me to answer because I do run many different varieties which can result in a somewhat wild canopy. I run at about 15 PAR W/ft² which averages 800 PPFD. I think 600-1000 PPFD is a good target range for any type of canopy.

@Greengenes707 mentioned that he has friends getting well over 1gpw with 1000W DE HPS and we have heard of yields like that coming from CMH. In order to get a useful comparison of how the lights actually perform relative to each other, we need a side by side using the same cutting, done by the same grower in the same conditions. Greengenes made that sacrifice for us. He used a 600W commercial LED (34% efficient) versus a brand new 1000W HPS Hortilux I believe (37.5% efficient). So that is a very useful data point.

So if there are growers out the getting 1.3gpw with a 41.5% efficient HPS, they should be able to get 2 gpw using a 40% efficient LED. To achieve those yields they probably use cash crop commercial varieties (big bud etc) and chem fert hydro or soil-less mediums. Im sure good growers can make it work, but they don't command the same prices as soil grown top shelf varieties in my limited experience, so that should probably be factored in. So if you are getting 1 gpw with the quality seen from Greengene's Blue Dream, you are doing damn good IMO.

Apologies for the utterly un-LED related question - but the people here are pretty "special" so I value your opinion in matters healthy growing......has anyone used MYCORRHIZAE in their grow?
I experimented putting it in during transplants a few times but I never did a controlled side by side. I do use microbial teas, recycled same soil for years, homemade EWC etc. If you are using no-till there should be plenty of well adapted fungi in the pots and probably composting worms also.

AD bin puts out 9000 lumens vs 8500 for AB. So they are about 5-6% more efficient than the CXA3070 AB's. The CXB runs at a slightly lower voltage, so the CXB AB is probably close to the CXA AD and the CXB AD would be a bit more efficient than the CXA I have.
