Sounds pretty simple, I'm just afraid I'd screw it up somehow. What did you use to make the cuts in the plastic? Where do I get a fan sitting in a duct like that? In the picture, the fan is inside that piping, and blowing air out right? And for intake you just have an open hole? Sorry I'm a total newb at this indoor shit.

we got it at homedepot heres the link
Inductor 4 In. In-line Duct Fan - DB204 at The Home Depot

i cant find that flexible exhaust piping on the website that you see in the pics but thats where we got it. all we used to cut the holes was an exacto knife.
and yea for the intake its just a hole, and it works because that exhaust fan pulls the air out of the box making a suction affect. you gettin me?
get back, w o w

Just wondering how much did your hydro bill go up from the 6 lights? I'm just starting and I'm trying to figure out the money damage and where do you get that carbon filter?
Take the total amount of Watts you will be using and divide it by 1,000. Then, multiply that by how much a local kilowatt hour costs. (In Ontario, where hydroelectricity is about four times as costly as in the States, it costs less than 6 cents to buy a kilowatt hour.) Multiply that by 24 and you'll get how much you're paying per day. Multiply that by 30 and you'll get how much you're paying per month.
In 42W CFL's, it only costs about 1.2 kilowatts to give a plant about 12,000 lumens- quite a high count

how hot does it get have u ever thought about adding more and put a clear peice of plastic under the lights and a fan so all the heat gets sucked out just seem like 6 lights not enough i wonder if i could cram a 250 hps in there with a cool tube wa think like how much does the cfl i mean i crame 150 watts in a 1 but 2 by 2 foot high box and with just a fan made it like 78 degrees how much did your rise and whats the wattage

great thread man. a few people done this tub idea on cannabisculture.com forum. they got good results too. how did you make that carbon filter? looks like you got some carbon air filter sponge and just stuffed it in the ducting. is that it? does it work ok? looks good. i got a small cab grow and no room for a filter so im thinking of borrowing your idea

well the plants in my AG were dying so I built one of these as best I could had sum tubs left over from a bubler set up, I put the plants from the AG in some soil but they died overnight it got way to hot in the box, so I added some ventilation holes and I now have a fan on the top sucking hot air out, and one on the side at the bottom blowing air in, i didnt have any ventilation tubing around so I kind of ghetto rigged the exuahsting butit seems to be working, oh my lights are inside the top tub I have them hooked up to some wires so I can adjust the height of the lights easily

big props too you on this I am still trying to manage the heat I dont have the ducting you have so I just have a fan on top to pull the hot air out and one on the side to put air in, if i can get to home depot I may try and rig it a little better, one idea I did have was to get one of those dual window fans and mount it to the top of the tub on fan blows in the other one sucks it out what do you think I am only using 6 26 watt cfls I dont see how you managed the heat using 6 42w
