DIY 4oz. minimum yield grow box

I love the setup I went out yesterdaay and built it. Works great only its not as good as yours i could only fit 4 pots in it. Thats ok though Im only grow 4 plants. My box is running at like 85 degrees right now and when the lights are on the box glows hehe. Thanks a lot man cheap and effiecnt and good on space!!

no doubt man, but if you line the inside with reflectant then it shouldnt glow, mine didnt.

ya i have tin foil sheets in there its kinda sloppy i cant find mylar any god damn place around here!! I wish i could line it with mylar it would really help the light leaks..

Those little folded up "space blanket" emergency blankets are definitely the same thing as mylar, just not the name brand. The generic name is "aluminized pvc foil" or something like that. Anyway they are almost as good...maybe not quite as thick.

As for scrog...
You know those decorative trellis things people have in their yards that grow grapevine on them, and they grow into sort of a square tunnel of grapes? Thats what scrog is. Picture having chicken wire(some kind of very large screen 1-2" holes) between your bottom and top tubs. Then as the plants grow through the holes in the chicken wire you tangle(weave) them in it a bit, forcing them to grow sideways along the screen, rather than up. You keep doing this in veg until the screen is about full. Then when you switch to 12/12 colas start growing all from the same distance from your lights, and evenly spaced too.

My bad dude. I didn't mean to step on toes. You obviously have everything under control.

I just wanted to back you up on the space blanket=mylar thing, and to paint you a mental picture of how awesome that box would be for scrog.

Ok here is my new grow... It is inside the same rubbermaid tubs that are in my 1st failed grow i posted on here... Peace... =]

hey dave here is an idea since the box with the cfls seems to contain the light so well and the AG light is best for side lighting, why not put the AG inside the box???? have the cfl fixture above and the Ag lights for side or stand by lighting.

yea dude it would work but... an ag can only produce 3 oz. max. so with the soil setup your talkin 5 oz. minimum. easy decision to me.... it would work though if thats what you wana do...

Yea man, i'm getting close to finish with my AG, and i'm going this route next time in soil. Only thing I plan to use the AG with is cloning. Other than that, this DIY soil grow box is where it's at. I'm gonna try some L.S.T. and see what I can come up with. Not to mention soil is so much easier to deal with.

Yea i updated on monday. Trying to determine when i'll be flushing. I know I still got atleast 3 weeks, but it's hard to tell. I'm just worried about flushing/harvesting at the right time, so I'm just gonna wait it out until it looks right. I'm also thinking about HPS for next time, but then I'd have to reconsider the grow box.

yea man i hear ya with the better lighting. but yea then the box prob. wouldnt work. ill check your thread here in a bit to see how theyre lookin.
on the flushing ide do it atleast 2-3 weeks before harvesting.

what I am trying to do is combine the speed of growing hyro/with the stealth and light efficencey of the box I am going to smoke and figure something out i will post after i am high and in my right state of mind.......

hey dave/'anyone with similar experience' i plan on doing a closet grow with c99 and CFLs in soil. i may end up using your setup, but regardless the part i'm clueless about is soil and nutes. it's tough to find a definitive guide to feeding plants with unfertilized soil, or even with. i'd rather stay away from miracle gro because of scattered negative reviews... what did you use for nutes and soil? if you remember, some sort of feeding/watering schedule would be helpful too.
