Few quick questions:

1) I know you used 6 small trash cans as your pots, what pots (not trash cans) would you buy to produce the same results (like how big diameter or whatever measurement)?
2) You put 6 pots in this thing, so you grew a total of 6 plants? (I thought I read earlier you only had 5 plants growing or something so I'm just checking)
3) Did you have to use any nutes? (I can't recall you mentioning them anywhere in this thread)
4) Did you have to do anything to the plants to keep them short or did you just let them do their thing?

Thanks a lot man and keep up the good work!

it was 5 plants at the end, started with 6 one got fucked up.
i bought the trash buckets when i bought the rubbermaid tubs at the store so i got the biggest 6 i could find that could fit it the tub.
and for nutes nothing other then miracle grow soil with continuos feed.

Hey daveg1i,
Great work man!! Did you use the 6 CFLs from start to finish or did you slowly introduce more CFLs during the each stage (vegging, flowering)? I noticed you didn't use any blue spectrum lights only red spectrums.. is that correct? Thanks!

wicked sick setup dude, using the same thing myself. Im in the proccess of getting new pots, probaly going with 5x 8" pots. First grow just using bag seed. I plan on getting another rubermaid and using it for a mother/ clone room, then doing sog in the setup I already have. Dunno if its gonna work, but im gonna try and if it works ill post up a journal =)

That setup is damn fine! have ordered my Aurora Indica seeds and they are on their way. A DIY CFL setup is what I have my heart set on so seing such great yields from a project like this is making my mouth water! I know this might seem like a dumb question but can you substitute aluminum foil for the mylar? I have searched high and low in the stores here for those emergency blankets but have not found a single one! I am sure that foil wont be as reflective, and I would prolly never get anything close to 4 oz on my first grow, but anything more than an oz would make up for the time I used in veg, clone, bloom and cure tho I am positive I will be dipping into the curing stash. Where'd you get the 42 watt bulbs? Wally doesn't carry anything higher than 26 watts.

simple answer NO, it will burn the shit out of your plants. Use mylar or panda film

If you cannot find them locally, the internet is a wonderful thing, try this place

what do you use to power the computer fans?
Check my sig, i have instructions on wiring fans. Or check the DIY threads there are a couple threads on wiring.
SEARCH FIRST then ask.

yea man very easy... the light fixture comes with 3 wires 2 are used and the third is what they call a neutral or some shit like that, its connected to the body of the light and the wire doesnt have a casing on it(dont use this wire). and the positive-negative doesnt matter just hook up the two wires coming out of the fixture to a 2 wire plug...

peace:weed:

is wiring the vanity light fixture the same as wiring the fans?
No, ones a light fixture and the other are fans. Two totally separate entities :) :) :)

As dave said it's very easy, mine came with instructions on how to wire the whole thing, and i'm fairly positive they all do.

Time to blaze one, stay frosty
