Grow lights meaning, hot, incandesant, flood light types? If so u wanna get some 6500k & 2700k cfls. Up can 'upcan' the plant to a slightly larger pot, and bury the stem up to the 1st set of leaves.

Also, this can be made cheaper. I was driving by my Volunteers of America, and seen some nice used cupboards, that would work. Shop around, as u cabinets are better for light leaks. Mine is just for babies, so light leak, is no problem. Smoke well...

Ok Tony, just watched ur vid. Whoaa. Those are fonna need pencils or popsicle stics to hold them selfs up. They also need individual pots. Their roots are gonna get tangled. When they do, they can start to choke each other out. Stealing nutes from each other. I would invest in a few 300w equivalent CFLs. $14.99 from Home depot. $9 for a shop light hanging reflector. Get it as close as u can, without causing heat burn.

Ps, thats alot of seedlings, HPS is gonna be the best way to go..

What strain are those? Indica? Sativa? Unknown?

I have no clue what they was. They were just seeds from a quarter ounce I had a couple weeks ago.

I was actually thinking about getting a 250watt or 400 watt HPS but with me being in an apartment and having basically only a small closet space, I would be nervous if I ever left it unattended.

Reason being back in September my house burned down (why I'm in an apartment) and ever since since I've been paranoid with anything that could be a fire hazard in a small space.

Basically, all I want is 2-3 plants in the end to maintain. The only reason I have so many now is I want to guarantee myself at lest SOME females instead of cutting back to 3 right now and they turn out being male and it be wasted time.

But good idea about separating them, I didn't think about roots twisting up.

Aight, so I added a new fluoro today. $12.99 for fixture. $6 for bulb. Now were at $77. I added the flouro, for seedlings and clones. The heat from the cfl's below, eliminate the need for a heat pad.


New fixture..

Use washers so it wont pop thru the plastic, crushing young ones:(

think it would be possible/good to try a 150w hps grow in there? what kind of ventilation/fans should i need to keep it cool? and is a cooltube more harm than help on a 150w? i wanna do a stealth indoor grow with some fem auto ak47 ive got on the way and this cabinet size is ideal. and another question, with the walmart carbon exhaust filter if im growing this in my closet with the doors closed will you be able to hear it? if anyone has suggestions on a grow light 150hps i can buy (i suck at wiring shit, would prefer to buy a cheap one already made) please post a link!

That is going to get hot when closed longer then an hour. so now you get light leak cause you need to vent. Looks great though. love the homemade hood I gotta whip one of those out. i wonder how much those help? Think about Dryer hose and hose clamps and go back over to the hardware store and get some more ducting----hole saw fan in one end and maybe the other. Put gunny sack of charcoal (since we are on the dime) at end of vent line as not to stink out the room. Or if you can vent into attic or crawl. I bet I can bake a cake in there with those lights Like those old ovens the girls made cakes with outta a lite bulb. And with some C02 wow that thing will be a sweat box. great Bases for the cabinet and thrift though.

I love mine. I have it in a basement. No heat issues! I am using Cfl's tho. Mine os for vegg, so i need humidity high. Like i said before, im not worried about light leaks. Rubbermade makes a thicker one, that should keep light in better. I LST a Sleestak, that i just threw into flower. Ill throw pic up later.

Good point! I forgot to mention, I am a caregiver for my Aunt as well. Good catch. We dont need Michiganders thinkin the law changed. Not yet it hasnt!:)


Jeb, thankx for stopping. Used, large cabinets would work great to, even cheaper! Im lookin for a nice used Oak cabinet, to make a dry box from. If I find 1 soon, ill make a step-by-step..

omfg y couldent i have fuckin thought of this b4 i looked at ur grow box great idea i went to home depot bout this expensive wood built my grow box costed like 100 $ well its a great grow box but i could of saved alittle money also liked the cfl video thats what im using now also do u grow outdoors too cause im trying that also this year just cloned sum yesterday

No outdoor for me. HUGE yard, but my neighbors are litterally to close. My lot is 400' deep, but 75' wide:( Plus were not 'legally' allowed to grow outdoors, unless its a 'locked-facility' So I can privacy fence, lock the gate, thats fine. But neighbors will smell it. Dont want that! Stonedddd rambling:)

I have it in my cool, sorta cold basement. When the lights are on, its 74. U can get a small clip-on fan, from amazon for $12-15. Or just use PC fans.

That looks like specular foil, aluminum or mylar. What you really need is something diffuse. For example, light....obviously travels....the speed of light. When the reflection is focused, it reflects back to the plant in a focused beam. If it is diffuse, or diffracted, it scatters and hits the plant in many different spots. I found the cheapest diffuse aluminum panels at reflectit.webs.com which you can cut with a carpenters knife to fit exactly perfect on the walls of your box. Your plant will love you for it!

Uhh thx! ^^^^^ it is Thermal Sheild 2mil Mylar. Used it for many moons now. This is just a 'Jumpstart' cab for me, NOT a full cycle cab. Thankx for the imput tho.

PS, my plants do luv me!:)
