So ive been growing for almost 50 days...i transferred it to a bigger container about 15 days ago. I had seen some videos on topping and gave it a shot but it i dont think it came out as expected. Im posting some pics. I tried to identify the sex but i guess im just blind...or maybe its not yet shown its sex...its still about 13 hours of sunlight a day...its late afternoon out here and the photos are about a couple hours old...it gets a little cloudy some days like today...i just hope its a female...PLEASE HELP...the worst shit is i just grew one plant and took a chance so i dont even know how to tell the difference...i thought it'll stop after producing 7 fingered leaves but now for the 7 days its been coming out with 9 fingered leaves...and the growth rate has shot up a little bit...2012-09-21 14.12.39.jpg2012-09-21 14.12.49.jpg2012-09-21 14.13.08.jpg2012-09-21 14.18.52.jpg2012-09-21 14.19.04.jpg2012-09-21 14.20.07.jpg2012-09-21 14.20.18.jpg2012-09-21 14.20.53.jpg2012-09-21 14.22.27.jpg2012-09-21 14.22.52.jpg2012-09-21 14.23.02.jpg2012-09-21 14.23.27.jpg2012-09-21 14.23.40.jpg2012-09-21 14.34.18.jpg2012-09-21 14.34.30.jpg

Too early to tell, looks healthy though. Do you have holes in the bottom of that box for drainage?

The first preflowers will appear at the nodes closest to the top of the plant so that's where you want to get pics from.

Me and one of my friends have been buying stuff from this farmer for about a year now and he sells good stuff ( i dunno what stuff you guys smoke in Netherlands and the sensimilia stuff but yea its pretty good). you find the pure Indica races up in the himalayas and Sativa ones down in Kerala. We live in the central west part of the country so most of the stuff is probably god knows what after years of genetic combinations of land races that come from both the regions. there isnt any classification or any effort in that direction aswell. So we dunno what we've got until we smoke it up. We decided to collect the seeds we get from stuff that was real good. We collected close to 150 really good seeds. Then i just put my hand into the bag and took one out and gave it a shot.

I moved to this place close to the hills not far from where we got our stuff from, but you can see a lot of farming activity out here since its bout 20 miles from the city. 28-22 degrees is the present variation in temperatures with occasional rain and 50% humidity. there is a farm overlooking my balcony so i decided to give it a try. I got some soil from the farmer {*i have done no tests nothing on the Ph or wtv...but yea, ill do it in a few days*} and sowed the seed in a small plastic bag. Once it outgrew i thought ill just move it to a bigger bag cause it would be futile effort to fend for soil and a big pot and finally find out its a male. But when it started to outgrow that then i had to go for this. Its bout 25-30 litres i guess. Now its growing much faster than it was earlier. Maybe the soil is good. The chest inside which i have put the soil does have a good number of holes at the bottom. Excess water gets immediately drained. I usually pour bout 4 litres of water and a lot of it just runs off. But the soil seems to be moist for almost a week. So ive started givin 2litres every 4 days instead. I use a solution of tobacco and neem and a lil soap to make it stick as pesticide. i spray once every week.

What is collateral branching???

I know im growing in a really stone age fashion but i dont believe much needs to be done when your growing something that is indigenous to your surroundings. But ive been really enjoying this whole process and spending hours everyday staring at my plant.

Def Sativa, no sex yet, friend grew a plant that looked just like that and it got to be over 6 foot outside before it showed sex. Get a bigger pot.

Damn...The police busted abandoned mother plant in the jungles of kerala which was about 30 foot. the natives had a ladder on top. and the sativas around her (all abandoned i guess because they were too old and natives dont kill or destroy female plants) were atleast 15 footers.

Its started getting colder and and the days are becoming smaller. I thought they start flowering when this happens??

move out of that pot, youre getting the start of discoloration(yellowing) of you're bottom leafs, also you have purple streaks up youre stem. might be strain related, might be stress related to, so first thing i would is transplant, especially as you will be hitting youre stretch pretty soon and root-bound plants will concentrate on vertical growth during the stretch, not good with a sat or sat dom also make sure you have adequate drainage to,

i just moved it to this bout 2 weeks ago. I got rid of them true leaves and the 3 fingered leaves. maybe they are yellowing because they dont receive adequate sunlight??

umm, when there light deficient symptoms are different, its noting to be over concerns about just keep n eye on it, as long as you have good soil and watering patterns,
collateral branching is when you're leafs no longer grow symmetrically at either side of the branch(node region), they grow more like steps, its just youre plant getting ready to flower,
u will need to transplant again if you want to get full flowering production out of that sativa, push it to is genetic threshold,

Oh and i think he mean alternating nodes not (collateral branching),but anyway i don't see any growth points on the branching for a flower to form so yeah.....Male.
But lets wait and see.
