Defoliation, Your thoughts?

In my little cab (31" X 28" x 5') only running a 400 watt and so far the girls love it, clones included and no bleaching.
The lights about 8"-10" from the clones tops and about 11"-14" from the smaller babies.

Man stump you know how to start a cat fight don't you? LOL. boys, boys, boys, you can find an example of too much and too little of anything and everything. Find a balance and let the fools do their foolish things....until they out produce you then check that ego, humble that ass and learn something LOL.

Please everyone, let's let it go. The natural inclination is for someone to holler "nute deficiency," except this wasn't. Lights were raised and no further problem.

Huel is right to question such a thing, and when I posted this on RIU and ICMag, many did not believe. I had to show them, too!

This is Plush Berry, and as Uncle Pirate said, this could be strain dependent. That makes more sense since I haven't seen this on my SSH growing alongside (last grow). That's interesting.

It's also been interesting using the light meter. Everyone else here would never need / use such a thing, but I lack a green thumb, and that while that bums me, I like the toys.

Looks like fall colors, thats a good thing, all the nutes are being used correctly. Will burn real smooth if cured correctly.

i wasn't trying to stir shite with the too much light issue. it's just a fact . i like hps this is nothing about them. in fact without them most ppl couldn't grow dirt. just saying lol

As of today the de-foliation thread has been locked and removed as a sticky on icmag. Good riddance.

Nice grow, but I think I'm missing the point. What are we looking for in that thread?

I seen it, DNA genetics recomends defoliation for penetration. its in there.

I saw that he mentions pulling leaves off a few times but I'm missing what it proves. He's definitely not setting any records with his yield.

The point (people TRY to miss) is that the breeder; maker of the strain no less-recomends defoliation for at least this one strain for optimal yeild. no, he's not pulling elbows from a tiny stick the OP isn't even the point. As I see it the useful info was that the breeder was/is pro-defoliation at about week 5 for that strain but those who agree will and those who don't wont see this as anthing useful at all.

I know just the strain.... muh huahahaha ha ha ha!!!!

Here is why I do it. I have a 4x8x7 tent with 2800W. I cant pound the light through all the foliage. Everytime I make room for light to get through, within a day or two, they've become this much bigger, branchier shrub.

Do I want to pull the leaves off? No. They are important to the plant. When space is limited though, you create it (space), and it fills it back in.

Do I suggest doing this? No. Definitely not if you have plenty of room. When your working in the space I am, air flow is a pretty big factor. You can have all the fan leaves in the world, but if your air quality is poor, that can be an issue too. It is a serious balancing act when you have very limited room.
