I love this post and this information is pure gold. I've got a smaller tent - 5 sqft- i'm super concerned about heat and a bit cost sensitive, can you (or other forum DIYers) recommend a 3 COB setup for me? i'd be much appreciated
I'm by no means the best person to ask but ... 3 cxa3070 3000k on 3 arctic alpine 11 fan/heatsink combo with some 13$ eBay drivers is the defacto standard... That's 150 watts(I believe)of cost sensitive action!!! Good luck mang!

Thanks guys! Any recommendations for a 3 cxb3590 build? Again- 3x1.6 tent, Heat/cost biggest concerns
Recent recommendation when asking similar question...
3 cxb3590 3500k (cb bin quoted at 43.60 for minimum 5 order yesterday)
Of course the 3 arctic 11's to keep with the cost restraints and modular flexbility...
1 hlg-120h-c1400b dimmable driver or three eBay 50 watt drivers...
Similar to what salty recommended to you ,but with the 3590 version.
This is exactly what I'm doing times 3 in 9sq.!

If you score that 5 pack but have no use for the remaining two... Folks around here are bound to have an interest in them...

What made everyone switch to the 3500k color from 3000k. Do we experience better growth or frostiness from the increased blue? Most important is how it does in flower to me
greengenes in one of his round of grows with apache, 4K, 3k and 35K found an overall blue\red balance that he preferred as an all in one solution,
check out his videos to see what its all about. in short he found the 3K to be the most hps like, and lacked the frostiness that he was used to with apache, which is cool white plus red. The 3.5K had a nice balance between the two.

That plus 3500k with the CD bin is more efficient than the 3000k, unfortunately I only learnt about it after I ordered 6 3ks.

Sounds great! This is going to be a great build!

And it is a real pita to find isopropyl alcohol in store, at least, where I live.
So may i use something else to clean the cobs?
And what do you use to clean the h.sink? The same thing?
Do i really need to order some from eBay, 90º or 70º?
Have a great day ★

Try the drugstore or apothecary shop.

Simple answer : no
Smarty pants answer : 10°

Sorry, just had to ...

using a triangle calculator : http://www.cleavebooks.co.uk/scol/calrtri.htm

90° : 40cm distance gives 40 cm radius circle. (80 cm diameter)
80° : 40cm distance gives 33.6 cm radius circle (73.2cm diameter)

=> 80° : 47.7cm distance => 40cm radius and 80cm diameter

End result is you should hang them a little bit higher compared to 90°, in this example 7.7cm higher

EDIT : Why are all of supra's threads getting hijacked ?
