Here is a pic of roots after I broke up the root ball to see what's up. There were a lot of roots, nothing less than what I normally expect I'd say.

Pic 1 is the roots

I did a soil test that is the simple rapitest ones w the powder capsules.

Results were what the looked closest to me from the chart.

Ph: 7-7.5
N: High range
P: very low
K: very low ( almost no color )

I don't know why it doesn't upload them sometimes...I just looked on my phone and it didn't save.

I'll just say the roots to me looked normal but a little brown looking. Still healthy looking and not shriveled or dying, just a bit brown. Almost like when you do hydro and they get dyed brown from nutes.

Since there were so many roots I wonder if they did start a die off but since there were so many it didn't show at this time.

After it being so crispy, I would have expected to see rot or some bugs or something!

You let the plant go WAY past the point of harvest, it dried up and died, that's why it was so crispy.

I'm an experienced grower that has never had this issue. May not be the smartest grower since i dont know why this is happening but It did not go too long, that I can say with confidence.

The plant I got this clone from went 1.5 weeks longer without issue. It had about 10% amber trichs.

If you got 10% amber trichs, then you're letting it go too long. Not trying to knock down your skills bro, we all could learn more. I cut down when I've got 70% cloudy trichomes. Any amber at all you need to cut down, you wanna cut down before it even shows up ideally.

Honestly this thread is one of the dumbest ever... The only way a plant is going to dry up like that is if its.... DRY. The dude even mentions he hadn't even looked at the plant for 2 weeks and had someone else taking care of the watering. The plant was neglected plain and simple... There is no secret hidden cause for why this plant just dried the fuck up... Buds and all.Nope... It was left in the far corner of the grow room and allowed to brown bush.I agree you had dry pockets in your root zone... And the whole damn pot as well.

Like I said ..the only time I had seen this was when the bitch lady had her plants right under hps with like literally 3 fucking leaves on the whIle plant...and the crispy buds with dry dirt...I just figured it couldn't hold water from no foliage ot it got dry and suckEd all the water from the plant it could

@Resinhound I usually don't get mad on here. I didn't come here to ask for help only to be called dumb. Go fuck yourself.

I never said I neglected the plantit's whole life... It was in the corner yes, which my room is an 8 by 10 so pretty small and I have someone else watch the plants yes, but i do the watering. If I can't be there and there needs water, he does it...plain and simple since he lives there and watches the plants since I can't be there 24 7. No plant ever gets dried out. Like I said before, if anything, there may be an overwater situation.

I said I havnt put a hand on it in 2 weeks since it was almost done. How much attention do u give a plant that is almost done? I bet not much.

Regardless, people make mistakes. Doesn't mean I'm a lazy grower or neglectful or dumb because I try a lot harder than most people to keep my garden clean and healthy. I'm on forums everyday and I havnt had this happen before..ever.. in the years I have been growing...

So go ahead and attack me instead of trying to help...cool man.

An update: I cut the plant and threw it right in a jar. I put hygrometers in there and it was at 60%. I waited a few days and tried some. Harsh as fuck.

Don't bothering attacking me again. It's really a waste of my time and yours. Next time, if you have nothing nice to say...just move along man...

@Rasta Roy I generally don't get much amber, I wouldn't say 10% it's more like I look at 4 sites on the plant w a scope and if I see mostly cloudy and an amber trichs or two in all areas I check...I take it.

If I don't, the final appearance isn't as white looking for bag appeal and I find the high isn't as intense. I run mostly hybrids that lean indicated and most of my patients like couch lock > head high

It wasn't an attack dude... Just an obvious observation. You made a post on a public forum.. If you don't want honest answers or if you get butthurt because of them perhaps you shouldn't be posting on a public cannabis forum. If all you are looking for is sugar coated responses perhaps this isn't the proper venue for your questions.Sorry if my honest opinion offends you...but it's still my opinion.

The heat never gets over 79° and this strain I harvested at 11 weeks last time. Most plants can go further than their harvest window, they will just get more be in trichs.

When I grow something the first time, I always let them go unail I for sure see she is ready, instead of following breeder instructions.

No plant at 9.5 weeks, if it's an 8 Weeker would just crisp up and die though, the outside leaves or sugar leaves will get crispy but not the whole bud straight through.

I have a feeling it's root zone related. I'll be ripping it apart next time. I'll post what I see and probably a pic or two.

What kinds of root issues could cause buds to do that? Bugs or disease or both?

Also this doesn't seem to go from cut to cut. The cuts take time to get like this veg is usually really nice now a days. Had some issues before but everything is green and lush now, with an exception or two here and there buy overall very nice

Sighhhhhh :/
@Resinhound I didn't say it happened over night. It happened >2 weeks. I even think it was a week at the most.

I never let anything go longer than 3 days. I have someone that watches over them when I can't be there. I know there is no chance of an underwater scenario.

If anything I'd say overwater if it were to be watering related like i said. I don't not believe watering is the problem here.

Temps are always steady, nothing in my regiment or environment has changed as far as I could tell. Every other plant gets the same treatment and this hasn't happened

I said strain related on my part not the strains part. I said I felt I may need to dial it in. Say the plant didn't get enough nutes and cannabalized itself type thing. I would dial the nutes in...that's all I meant about that.
Ever figure out what it was ? I am currently day 45 of flower only and some of my buds are doing the same. Getting crispy and the sugar leaves getting crispy/changing color to like brown, kinda spotty. Thought it was rot but they are nice and healthy inside. Looks like a white coat blanketed them, but it’s crispy . Smell is still super delicious. Cut some down and did a 2 day dry , buda smoke great , better than other regular samples I’ve taken From same strain. I’m starting to take a guess it’s magnesium /calcium deficiency , that’s why the leaves are getting brittle and losing color. Seen a few guys mention that and I think I’ve exhausted all other options. if it happens again in the future I’m going to cal mag. Could be a lockout or deficiency possibly.
