Corporations Are Threatening Politicians

Corporations are threatening to withdraw contributions and support if the politicians they contribute to do not speak out against Occupy Wall Street.

Los Angeles was brought to task when they sided with the protesters and said the city would expand a plan to punish the banks for their wayward practices. Until, bank analysts told the city council that it would cost in excess of 58 millions dollars to analyze the banks in question. So they backed down.

"Data show that median family income declined by 6.7 percent over the past two years, the unemployment rate is stuck at 9.1 percent in the October report (16.5 percent if you look at the more meaningful U6 number), and 46.2 million Americans are living in poverty—the most in more than 50 years. "

So the 99% are starting to understand - FINALLY, I hope the 1% is afraid but I bet they are laughing.

Problem is, it might be too late.

When 1% owns 80% of EVERYTHING in the US, then of course there is no power left for politicans to do anything.
They do what corporate lobbyists tell them, not because they want to but they have to.

They don't have any money, but corporations do! Money = needed to do stuff. There no longer is a democrazy.
But who cares. What's on TV?

Edit: It really is that simple. You need your money back, without it your politicans can't do shit for you. And it's been this way so long that it might be too late anyway. Ignore the noise, hear the common sense, and you'll see corporations are the new power. Not your votes.

Carne, I don't understand. If there is legal support for the banks' wayward practices, can't a court order them to do the analysis on their own dime? Perhaps the bigger issue is that possiby LA decided to flex a muscle whose sinew is State andor Federal. cn

Perhaps we should audit the Federal Reserve?

I'll give a point, if these issues don't become part of the social discussion the people with a brainwashed ass backward opinion will "make the difference". I know one thing for certain that it is true that for evil to win out it only takes good people doing nothing, if we don't talk about issues they will certainly never see change.
