Commercial scale grow needs input from experienced growers

I'm finishing up a business plan to pitch to investors for drain to waste, coconut coir and perlite mix, 150 1000W lights. But some of the things I'm missing are pretty crucial and they all apply to supplies and startup costs. Now I'm stuck in China because they have ridiculous export policies on live animals, and I bought a pet cat while I was here. Long story short, I'm unexpectedly staying over in Shanghai for the next couple weeks after having already cancelled my cell phone plan. I was getting by with using a restaurants Wifi for research, but they're all closed now for the very extravagant Chinese New Year. I need help with research. Even just links and recommendations on suppliers would be so unbelievably freaking helpful, because I'm standing outside of a closed restaurant in the cold just to type this. Numbers are also immeasurably helpful. PS: If you're interested in working in Nevada's currently medical marijuana and soon to be recreational marijuana industry, I'll be hiring in just a couple months.

We're looking at roughly 150 lights and 650 plants. I'm so sorry, everything is on my computer, the monitor for which my freaking cat shattered while running crazy around the apartment yesterday morning. So please bear with me because I've like no access to my business planning, but more than anything, the 150 lights is a reliable metric.

What I don't have is suppliers for the following. How much each of the following I need. And how much each of the following will cost for the first grow cycle. Seriously if you can help please do, like I would appreciate it so much. As I said, my cat broke my monitor, so I can't play video games, I've quit my job so I have little "fun" money, my girlfriend left Shanghai 2 weeks before because we thought we could take the cat no trouble, and everything is closed here so it is possible but so difficult and inconvenient to do research.

Finally, what I need to know for 150 lights, 1 grow cycle, what supplier, how many, and\or how much $$:

Nutrients and additives
Rooting gels
Rockwool/rooting medium
Plant support stakes
Pesticides
Fungicides

Also if anyone has input on how much this will run for a facility of about 6500 square feet:

Carpentry (building grow tables)
Security cameras
Monitors
Safe
Motion sensors
Furniture
Card reader
Label maker
Plumbing
HVAC

Again I will do this all myself within 2 weeks, I don't need your help, but God would it be so appreciated. I'm drinking beer and daydreaming over here for 2 weeks longer, trying to get along with this freaking cat.

Cheers

Have you never done anything this big before? China is probably your best option for suppliers lol. But seriously if your going to go that big almost any hydro wholesaler will give you a huge deal below retail. My hydro store we got 30% discount for making purchases over 5k. Pacific coast hydro. Don't know what they're like now, haven't set up a larger op on a couple years.

150 lights is huge. You're almost better off getting in touch with one of the members on here producing new cob tech lights and running 1/2 as many. It'll save you huge on electricity running that big or just increase yield and reduce ac costs.

For your numbers I only have a 30 light house with recent expenses. And we're at about $3200 every two months for electricity.

Yea I'd wait till you get a reliable internet connection and do some more research. Your setting up a huge operation and basically asking people to do ALL the legwork for you, and no one's going to want to do that. Also, you'll catch more bees with honey than vinegar. What I mean by that is you post a thread asking for help and then come back with snippy comments when someone responds. Even if they don't respond with anything helpful you should still be courteous or then no one is really going to want to help you

Yep, even with investors for $100k you should expect at least $30k of it to be out of your pocket. Investors like investing in projects/people that show initiative, promise of returns, and reliability. If you ask for $100k with nothing there's almost no way to get any kind of outside investors.

It's like walking into a bmw dealership and asking them to give you an m3 with no down payment, proof of income, or credit score.

THIS ^^^^. I have the same situation going on with a buddy here in CO. Has grown 6, count them 6!, plants in his entire life and is now opening a massive warehouse to grow for the recreational scene, it's crazy! And he's consulting with hydro shop guys, and we all know they just want to sell you the most they can. I'll give it to him though he's actually put almost $350,000 of his own money in the op but dude just has no idea about how to actually grow. You can have all the money in the world but if you don't have the knowledge those investors and that money is quickly going to dry up when they start seeing those crap returns on their investment.

So please bear with me because I've like no access to my business planning, but more than anything, the 150 lights is a reliable metric.

These two lines are my favorite from his post though. How is 150 light a reliable metric, and a metric for what? Like if we just know you want 150 lights we're supposed to figure everything out from there? Hahahaha. And if you're going to have it figured out in two weeks then why post now, wait two weeks and do your thing. From your uppity attitude it sounds like a person that already has everything figured out, not a person who is coming on here asking for help from other people.

Yeah the jump from a couple lights to 10 is even a pretty big jump. 150 is massive and you need a team of people there pretty much all the time.

Well 150 lights will be small compared to my competition but thanks for the supplier I will shoot them and e-mail and I haven't heard too much about people running different lights but I'll look into it. I don't really know what lights you're referring to, to be honest. And thanks for the anecdotal cost estimate, that's going to help a lot. I basically make my own calculations and compare them to anecdotal as well as the scarce industry sources to see if I'm on track. Thanks again

me stupid!!!!! u the one on line looking for help on 150 light grow please u funny
Learn English. Learn to type it at least. Looking for information not help, I'll find help in the form of experienced labor and consultants. You're posts so far are worthless and a waste of my time responding to. But it's entertaining at least, something I have little of.

Pipe dream . Anyone capable of growing a 150 light setup doesn't need to ask people to help him price it out. People think growing weed is watering plants and cutting down money.. It's a joke.
Lol Nevada is already setup and the dispensAries are barely paying above Cali prices. I read something about 100k above... If you're talking through first run expenses.. 100k will only get you a badass 30 light setup at best + veg and dry room. 150 lights done right... Requires one hell of an electrical panel upgrade and 400k I would say.

A lot of the research has been done. Just trying to narrow the costs from the industry averages I've used thus far. They're not too reliable. And I've seen little benefit on this forum over the last year in being kind to people who bring nothing of value. This thread is tossing darts blind, but I'm hoping that some people will post something that helps the research.

Yeah, our 30 lighters ran about $100k for the first year. And didn't pay for itself and make profit till the second.

Sign me up I'd love for you to be my boss. You're on the right track bro you've harvested 50 grams in your life might as well jump straight into a warehouse. It's the same as your 2x2x5 cab except a tiny bit bigger. what's the difference between flower and veg? hahahahaha

What research? I didn't see any in your initial post. All I saw was that you wanted 150 lights, and from that we should know and figure out the whole rest of your operation.....come on dude. Also, no one wants to help someone who is not gracious for the help that is already being given. It seems to me like you aren't getting the answers you came looking for, a.k.a. someone to hold your hand and do all the research for you because you bought a cat in China. Wtf, why are you buying a cat in China anyways? Hahaha, that is the most random shit ever. No one is going to hold your hand and do all the legwork for you, and I'm surprised you found investor with the lack of knowledge you have. I could understand if you came with at least a little bit of a plan, but saying you want 150 lights and that is a "reliable metric" isn't telling us anything and isn't showing anyone that you did any type of research beforehand.

Both of these are exactly correct, especially the part that is in bold. People think it's so easy just to buy a giant warehouse, throw some lights in there, plant 650 plants, just "let them grow", cut, sell, make profit, repeat. I mean, if it was really that easy everyone would be doing it.....

My buddy who's starting out now is going to go with 800 plants to start, and he thinks he is going to hand water, trim, etc., all the things that go in to growing, he thinks he is going to do all that BY HIMSELF! I laughed in his face when he told me that
