Colorados Amendment 64? - The Official Post

I'm north of Denver. I have to believe that the Feds are focused on the big $ smuggling and related crime, not the backyard grower or user. I'm sure the growers that go nuts without some kind of state licensing will get busted. More than anything else though, I'm sure there will be a wait and see period. If things remain under control, no surge in traffic deaths from wasted drivers, no in-your-face taunting of police, etc, why would the state or federal gov fight it? Later on, if MJ vacations become common and the state's coffers start growing from the tax revenues, the other states are not going to just watch the revenues go to Colorado or Washington. I expect many states to put up ammendments/propositions in 2 years......as long as the using communty doesn't blow it.

I agree with the "focused" bit but would like to warn against complacency. The DEA won't spurn a small target of opportunity if it's the lowest-hanging fruit in the tree on the way to the big job. cn

Yes, the rule stills stands. Even more than before, don't get thrown under the bus as a sacrifice to "progress."

To any cop that thinks they are out of a job because we can now smoke is crazy. Go after the blow, meth, smack and other shit....
I think you're misinterpreting the motive behind cannabis busts. It's not job security. It's something far more basic. Laziness. It's easier and a lot safer to go after a non-violent pot smoker/small time provider than a meth lab/addict. Cannabis busts are lucrative, high profile, easy, less risky, and far outnumber meth or cocaine users. Human beings will always seek the path of least resistance.

I might burn for this, but the current fashion for the butt suggests otherwise. cn

You make it known that you're growing, you're probably going to have bad shit happen to you. The feds DO NOT waste their time with small grows. Up in the emerald triangle if you have less than 50 plants, helicopters will fly over your crop, you can wave at them, and they will still ignore you. It costs a lot of money for the feds to raid a grow, and they want to make sure they make headlines. Busting Uncle Jimmy's 6 plant grow just pisses people off when Uncle Bob has a 500 plant operation just down the road.

I dont think you understand or know a single cop. They seek out the adrenaline. They would rather go after a dangerous target, and if that cannot be found they go after the target where they can fuck shit up the most. They use SWAT teams to bust down grows around here, then they rip out the walls even if they know they got everything. They just tear shit up

That's quite an assumption. I know and am friends with several officers. I recently appropriated a sheriff (the sponge bob square pants underwear incident) for outdoor training purposes. It was a rocky start but we're getting along. I have a long time friend/school mate/fellow boyscout troop member/priesthood quorum compadre that is a Navajo police officer in the Shiprock area. I also have a cousin who is on the Acoma Pueblo police force.

I had one halfway in my car to give me a ticket last week. I couldnt fuck with him at the time or I would of only rolled the window down 3 inches.

Counties can override the "Rec" shop rule from my understanding, what you do in your own home is excluded from that regardless of county.
While were on that note, fuck Otero county and everyone in it. lol.

Carne, apparently those magic underwear don't prevent chaffing, tattler.

  1. I don't wear garments
  2. I don't know what you mean by "tattler" but I don't tell anyone that I grow. Except, of course, the Internet and I know the internet can keep a secret.

Hmmmmmm...tracking... http://www.examiner.com/article/first-legal-challenge-to-marijuana-amendment-colorado and... http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2012/11/amendment_64_marijuana_consumers_norml_colorado.php "We're all trying to implement the will of the people." Lets hope so. http://www.denverpost.com/recommended/ci_22068148

It looks like if the town of Parker could stop a legal personal grow...they would. It is great they can no longer fuck with responsible adults who choose to burn rather than drink it up. http://www.ourcoloradonews.com/parker/news/parker-moves-toward-ban-on-pot-shops/article_4f34ee42-3424-11e2-94cf-0019bb2963f4.html I do actually like the fact that people won't be inundated with weed leaf sings from shops and a bunch of other bullshit that makes us look bad to the local townie.

This is what will happen to Colorado when it begins to attempt to put in place laws and regulations and ordinances regarding legal marijuana.

The Fed will send letters to those who the state and the people were tasked to convert the general wish of the people into concrete proceedure. In those letters state officials will be subtly threatened in that their signitures, their efforts, their meetings to effect the new order can and will be seen as collusion with drug manufacturers and they will reserve the "right" to prosecute in Federal court.

Any confusion that the people or state officials have over the new law will be leveraged by the Feds who will find obscure federal or even state law that conflicts with the general understanding of the new will of the people of the state.

New proclaimations will be made known, even if the promises are toothless not all of them will be and therefore landowners and landlords will be informed in one way or another that they risk their ownership of that land should the Feds find marijuana growing on that land or in those buildings.

Banks will be reminded of all of the anti-terrorist and RICO standards whereby irregular deposits or withdrawals are to be brought to the attention of the feds. Excessive cash deposits are to be noted, and tracked.

Factions within the state who have made it known that they do not approve will be contacted by the Feds, this includes enforcement organizations throughout the state and they will be encouraged to bring the Feds into the picture at every opportunity and there may be, according to statute, offers of compensation - civil forgeiture going in part to the organization that cooperated with Federal law enforcement. DEA agents will infiltrate loosely grouped growing conglomerates - such as co-ops, growing advisory groups, coalitions and the like whereupon the Fed will make every attempt to make examples of minor infractions of the statutes. School zone busts will be sensationalized. Children found with pot will be made very public, Editorials will be written with the message of rethinking the law and ad hoc "studies" will seek to demonstrate that marijuana use is up and that useage will be linked to everything from drops in average grades to excessive purchases of pornography and violent video games.

Invariably someone will take it upon themselves to abuse legal limits. They may steal electricity, they may polute in some minor way, they may have children in the household and the feds will attempt to publicise these events. The IRS will be involved as much as they are legaly able where money is in any way changing hands. Any pot growing vectors i.e. hydro shops, grower's exchanges, farmer's markets will all be put under enhanced scuteny by the Fed if not the IRS.

All of this will be kept either very low key or only the most heinous looking offenders will be made public. The guy who grows 7 plants that are huge and also has a collection of vintage shot guns will be villified. Rape, theft, child abuse fires, armed robbery will all be linked no matter how tenuously to the growing, or transference of marijuana. Every occurance of a federal bust where other more harmful drugs are found iiin the same household will be publicised. ineveitably some marijuana "king pin" will be aprehended and pictures will be published of large collections of automatic weapons and bags of marijuana will be displayed with some reference to the new laws being key to these new abuses and the demise of regular, god fearing society. Auto accidents will be linked to marijuana use, child abuse and neglect will be linked as well.

This is a dangerous thing for the current federal government and it must be reigned in, not only within the state but in order to ensure that other states will not follow suit.

It may be that certain federal grants to the state will be made provisional on strict ordinances, money may be witheld, assistance for the poor made conditional and as before, state and city officials will be harassed. The confusion as to who has the ultimate authority will be expanded where local DAs will be forced to side with either their own state or the Federal government. California was forced to bring this issue to it's own Supreme Court, and after that court made it very clear that localities were to uphold state law and not federal law, those who believed that marijuana is a fundamental evil still ignored Supreme Court rulings.

Venues for federal trials will be distorted in order to curtail jury nullification and the worst possible light will be cast on the state itself. California was portrayed as a slacker state, a doper paradise where nothing ever getsdone and everyone flaunts the law and this new picture of the state will be perpetrated by the fed.

This is all very sad, this is all serves to lend credence to the right who believe that the Federal government all too often exceeds it's Constitutional authority but it is what I believe will begin to happen in every legal state even as it has in every medical marijuana state.

The only answer is to continue to make headway state by state and to charge officials in those states with their duty first to their own state and then only after that, to their federal government.

Other than the feds Colorado counties won't touch you for growing six or less. Three in flower three in veg . You don't have the mmj grey clause tho "as needed" to cover if you go over six. Also, 1oz instead of mmj 2oz (again as needed if you go over as a patient and don't mind taking court chances.) As long as you are not selling the feds usually don't waste their time going after small fry unless it is because they are after you anywho and need everything they can get on you.

Great time to live in Colorado :-)

Btw , banks here in Colorado already refuse to do business with dispensaries . Paying with cash really is not as hard to do as many plastic toting young people imagine. Yes, even in large quantities.

I am a law abiding Colorado citizen. I have been trying to understand the new laws that will be signed in by the governor within the next week. I am not interested in breaking the law whatsoever so I am starting this post. As far as I can understand thus far, I will be able to grow 6 plants for myself and give up to an ounce away to family or friends who cannot grow their own. My first question is: Can my specific county tell me I cannot grow my 6 personal plants in a locked space? Lets get this conversation started. I've always wanted to be able to grow a personal stash but again if my state won't even back me up then I'm not doing it. I know the fed just wants to hand me a bottle of 151, a pack of smokes...and say have fun.

If your only growing personal stash for friends and family your pretty safe regardless.

The feds can always get you and when they get you, they got you, ~90% conviction rates they are just haulin in people as if its their job because well it is their job to arrest or convict people and that is what they do. They do not give a fuck about me or you so fuckem, just be safe.
