Colorado Dispensaries Company Type / Taxes - How It Works?

so in colorado they have been putting in lots of dispensaries it would seem, and they have peaked my interest. I am a business student and doing a little research on their business model, i think it would be a cool project to put together a business plan for one of these. I know most of the answers to my questions, but i have a few unanswered ones.

so my question is how do these company's usually structure themselves Sole Propriatorship, LLC, or incorporate.

Also, in colorado is it to the point where dispensaries are paying state and federal tax? Do they just label it as herb stro or medicine place.

i don't get my card for a week or two, so i have never been in one, but are you allowed to smoke weed in there, or is it a go in and leave all fast enviroment.

Oh and then also, are they like licensed and registered with the state dispensaries, or are they just buildings owned by a dude who has 50 patients name him caregiver.

thanks guy in advance

I live in Boulder, and am a REGISTERED MEDICAL MMJ PATIENT from the good ppl at the THC clinic in wheatridge. Yeah you should pay your appointment in advance thats saves a little bit of cash. Then , you have to take your docs recommendation and send it with 90$ to Deb Pennington , she will then send you your card after a month. When you receive your card you will need to list a caregiver on it , this take just filling out a short little app for the caregiver, so that you BOTH are legal to exchange mmj . Feel free to PM me if you have other quetions or need help. I am a caregiver in Boulder, and am currently taking on new patients. please let me know if i can be of assistance for meds. My ailments are chronic pain and sciatica, i have to take nasty pillls to get by as well. Right now i have some incredible strains that are really potent and treat both pain and nausea.

actually no you are not allowed to smoke in the dispensaried in Denver, only can take in your card and fill out a app nd then your good, but you have to take the herb home. you can also buy clones as well. I am currently a med patient and caregiver, if you'd like to talk more pm me and I can give you the details.

I am considering a move to a Medical State, and Colorado is looking more and more the place.

I have a cpl questions, maybe you guys can help. My family has suffered for generations from Bi-Polar, manic depression, and chronic anxiety attacks. I personally have chronic sciatica and have it documented from College and the Mayo clinic in Minnesota. If I can gather all these records together, would I be likely for a medical card? I mean, I always assume so, but I need a knowledgable answer.

Also I need ideas for areas with family based criteria. You know, schools, shopping medical etc.

Also can you give me an idea on pricing. For example 14g weekly. And what are the laws regarding cultivation? Cost of Clones etc. I understand that some info may be too sensitive, but information you can post or PM for me would be greatly appreciated.

Under Colorado law (and most other states, I believe) mental health conditions are not covered under medical marijuana statutes. The one possible exception to this might be CA, but someone more knowledgeable about the laws there could better answer that.

But you would likely qualify for the sciatica. The questions are: how long have you been treated? Has your doctor documented it in your medical chart as chronic? Are you being prescribed pain medications or other treatments? Have you had at least 3 visits directly related to this condition within the past 3 years? If your answer is yes to these, then I would say you have a very good chance of getting a recommend in CO.

And what are the laws regarding cultivation?
You can read all of the CO guidelines (and more) on this page of Sensible Colorado's website.

So I have done th exact same protocol described here, I have severe chronic sciatica, however, it's what causes the sciatica that will get you the mmj recommendation, for example, I have a herniated disc at l4-s1 and am on the heavy pain meds, oxy and morphs, I went to the thc clinis with my 3 yrs of chronic pain documents, then the doc signed my rec, it took me 1 mo to get my card. I will pm you for the rest.

I am in the same boat. I have had severe chronic sciatica and low back pain for about 4 years now and have been on opiate pain medications ever since. Two years ago I had a 2 level spine fusion surgery done, which didn't correct the problem and made it worse in some ways (now I have pain higher up in my back due to the fact that my lower back has much less flex now and is putting pressure on every disc above the 2 that were removed). So I should have no problem getting a recommend.

That will be a problem, I have been without insurance benefits since 2005. It has been documented previously as chrinic, but I have never been prescribed anything more than daily Flexril.

As far as the mental stuff, its a shame, there NEEDS to be more research and prescription for mental disabilities...

AGM: i believe you read the post wrong...? Not sure, I'm not sure where you read about mental disbabilites? My last pm to you mentioned a particular strain for chronic pain : MENTAL FLOSS. Also it doen't matter if you haven't been on narcotics, the point is , chroic pain that needs to be treated just to function on a daily basis. PM me if you need further clarification and details.

Well, I PM'd you since I don't really want to go into too much detail on a public forum. :)
