Club T5

Update.

Buds are definitely fattening up

I was running rez ~ 550, but this morning I decided to give it a bump adding almost 1/3 fresh nutes @ 700ppm

Pics don't due them justice, as bud branches are heavily clumped together, a result of cubing them. The last pic is easily 15" long

First time going to try growing indoor. So if i used a T5 4foot 8 bulb would it work in a 4x4 tent or should i use a 2x2 tent.

2x4. best bulb combo htg agromax 5400k (htg eBay store) uvl redsuns ( marine depot or aquarium specialty)

or all zoo med flora suns (drfostersmith.com)

if you want a 4x4 look into area51 led. Or if you want a 2x2 or 2x4 look into Hans led (bonsai hero)

420nm/3000k

i turned on the 420's and i don't feel so good about the safety of my eyes anymore. it gives off a little UVA below 400nm and i can see the floaties in my eye like when on an airplane

this will be pointed down and in a grow tent where it can't hurt me
will try 460nm/6500k grow 420nm/3000k bloom
trying 460nm/420nm on some beans right now

so... they're growing. new leaves doubled in size twice in 3 days. 3x faster than under a 400wMH
420nm violet 460nm blue t5 only

another good thing about t5's
they keep 95% of their lumens @ 20,000 hours, that is like 10+ grows

lumen_depreciation.jpg

pic shows some good info on other types of lighting as well

Run don't walk to PetCo.

Just bought $100 worth of ZooMed Florsuns and Tropic Waves @ $11.99, that's half off

FYI, I noticed these are 39w, not 54w

Boooo. Jokes on me. Turns out the bulbs were T8, not hot5s

I did get 2 more Florasuns and replaced a UVL Red Life, whose life was waning

I would have gone that route (F&S) had I not Fd up and bought 4 T8s by mistake (on sale @ $10.99), their HOT5 stock is pathetic. I was able to swap 2 T8s for 2 hot5 Florasuns, which was all the hot5s they had! I got a store credit because I threw away my receipt. I don't have pets. Gonna try to use the credit on line, hopefully catch a deal there

I will be happy the day I can afford to replace my 8 bulb Quantum Bad Boy, but getting ZooMeds at $11.00 eases the annual replacement cost considerably. Still I want to get mercury out of my environment. Disposing of tired bulbs is supposed to be done at a hazmat facility.

I cover my old bulbs with clear packing tape before disposing

I am excited by the COB/Multi-chip/Reflector tech, plus it's ~ $1 per watt.

Guys like you can easily pop out the standard multi-chip and drop in some sweet high performance cobs. I think even I can pull that off

Much earlier in his thread, I believe it was chronikool (Edit: nope it hyroot) , who said one can run Zoomed Florasuns from start to finish.

Well I routinely run 2 from onset of buds, but this grow late into flower I added one more. The 3rd I added 3 days ago, replacing a Quantum Flower (2900K)

That shifted the color balance from pink to a bluish pink

2 days ago I added `70ppm of sea crop minerals to ~ 180ppm V+B thinking bumping minerals might further fatten the buds

Yesterday afternoon I notice lots of new pistils

Not sure if it's due to the extra FS, the minerals, or both

Another factor is temps have gone up from low 70s to mid 80s during the day, and low 70s from high 50s at night
