Closet area, 400watt MH and 400watt HPS, need advice on soil vs coco vs mix

I did an awesome grow in soil. I'm wanting to upgrade to hydro.
Also, I'm using Blue Mystic auto-flowering, and am wondering about the lights. last time I used 400w MH for veg 24 hrs on, and once they got tall enough, I switched to 400w HPS 12 on 12 off. Results were awesome, but I've heard with auto flower, 18/6 from start to finish is optimum. Do I use MH or HPS or both. Using both in a little closet with only 4 plants seems a bit much?

I use Tupur, it's a coco based mix, it also has peat, oyster shells, perlite, etc. It's a very forgiving hydroponic medium you can water just like soil (only with nutes).

Thanks, My main concern is sometimes I have to leave my closet unattended for 2 days at a time.

2 days is a long time for any hydro system that isn't automated, so you either going to need timers and pumps, or forget about hydro because they need water everyday.

Good ole fashioned hempy buckets would work good for 48 hrs of absence or BluMats in whatever medium you want to dial in.

Thanks sikk, yea, I've got pumps and timers, what I meant was I can't check ph, add nutes etc, for sometimes 2 days at a time.
Also, on my last grow, the light schedule was easy, 24 hours/day MH during veg, and 12/12 HPS during flower.
What about autoflower? 18/6 for sure, but MH, HPS, or both?

Going on week 3, things are looking great. I'm still not sure about my lighting, gonna stick with the 400 watt MH, but I'm gonna add the 400 watt HPS for the first and last hour. I read somewhere that plants recognize the yellow/red spectrum in the morning and evening, when the sun is low in the sky. Anyone heard of this?

I was just going to suggest hempy, on my 4th grow now and first run with hempy but it really is as simple as water and watch grow. Mine are 100% perlite
