Two days ago I decided I would take some clones off my buddies MM grow (5wks into flower) for his next round and my first. I have ordered seeds and have them as a backup if these all die (hopefully not).
I have read through the https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/15030-batch-clones-rockwool.html and have tried following the method as close as possible minus the fact that his were taken from healthy mothers in veg.
I soaked the rockwool for a couple hours in 3 gallons of distilled water with a half tsp of superthrive and phd to 5.6.
I used the clonex gel that came with my hydrofarm dome/ heater and once all the clones were in the rockwool I gave them six hours in the dark then put the T5 almost right on top of them to keep the temp up since I wont be using the dome.
The temp as you can see in the picture stays @ 80deg F and the RH @ 50%. I have been running the lights 18/6 with the heating pad running 24/0. I water by quickly submersing only one quarter of the rockwool in the solution and then placing back in the tray.
This being my first attempt ever to take clones and realizing that I have compounded the difficulty by taking my cuttings from flowering plants. I dont expect many to take root but if I can even get a couple out of the 24 taken to re-veg and later make them mothers I will be happy. I realize this also takes significantly longer to do it this way but its WA and we dont have dispensaries so I will have to make do with what I have available.
If anybody sees that Im doing something wrong or has any positive suggestions please let me know. Thanks
