cloner setup help

ok i was looking around and i saw those daisy cloners and stuff i was just wondering if i were to build one is it pretty much the same thing as a hydroponics system? im just wondering because i was lookin into building one. right now im just using rockwool and a humidity dome if anyone know plans to build one, resources on building one, or just a basic concept of how they work would be great. any info would be greatly appriciated thanks.

another thing that they dont tell ya in the faq is getting the clones out when they have roots all over without ripping the roots off. i'll take some pics of mine and post em for ya tomorrow so you can see its hard to explain what i did.

ok yea i was wondering that cause those are some small holes and to support the stems in the holes can i use some straws?

I have built two of those bubble cloner tubs and they work great. I didn't like the small holes either so I bought some neoprene plugs like these: Neoprene Plugs
and it worked great and so easy to take them out. Only downside is you can't cram as many of them in there. I currently use both methods and have good success with both.

I was also curious to you other bubble cloner users out there, do you guys dip the clones in cloning gel? I have used them without and with and they both seem to do ok was wondering what the general consensus is

i use root powder only because i had it laying around. works great.

in the holes on the cloner i use a piece of 1/2 inch hose like aquarium pump hose.its bigger than the 3/16 hole i drilled in the lid so i slice the hose legnth wise and force it into holes then insert clones. when they have roots i take the whole clone and hose out of the hole and take the black hose off the clone stem " via the slice in the hose"instead of sliding the roots out through it. if this sounds confusing i'll get better pics

ok i see you cut a line going like this| down the length of the tubeso you slide it out sideways instead of pulling it out from the top correct?

yea exactly it works well for me and it supports the clone very good.
