When 'The Dutch Masters' finally laid their hands on Romulan clones it was before feminizing was being done so they had to cross Romulan with something else to make seeds. But many still sold the cross as being Romulan. Some were honest and said it was a cross, but some claimed it was the real deal even though none of it was.

I will use information breeders put out, but with a disclaimer if I have not personally grown it or are good friends with someone who has and know for sure it is what it is claimed to be. But I have said it many times, there are no truth in advertising laws when it comes to cannabis strains and anyone can use any name they like for a strain, even when it is the original name of a highly famous strain and what they use it for is a genetically totally different strain.

A perfect example is Bubba Kush. The real deal:

Kinda different, wouldn't you say? But imagine how many suckers have given Green House Seeds their money and were all excited and bragged to their buddies how they had Bubba Kush.

Over the decades I have grown I have seen in person, or later read online on grow sites, people trying to reinvent the wheel or invent a better mousetrap more times than I could begin to guess. Their reinvented wheel always turned out to be square or triangular shaped and their better mousetrap turned out to be a mouse feeding station rather than a trap.

Just to see if some nutrient company was onto something I have tried a handful of the wunder-juices they claim are miracle products. What I learned is the only miracle about them is that it is a miracle that so many people are gullible enough to fork over their cash for something that is mostly water with just a little bit of nutrients that should have been included in the formula for the manufacturers fertilizers to begin with.

They only leave them out of their standard fertilizers so they can sell you one more overpriced product.

If growers used proper nutrients to begin with they would have no need for such products, even if they were the wunder-products they never turn out to be, rather than just a piece of a puzzle that was intentionally left out when the rest of the puzzle was made so they could sell you that piece separately for more than it is worth.

But, there's a sucker born every minute and that makes many of today's breeders and all the snake oil manufacturers rich.

What you said about hype is somewhat like what you may have noticed me say in a previous message of mine in this thread about the flowering time for Durban Poison. Afropips had the best African genetics around and their Durban Poison is a 90 to 120 day strain, and on SeedFinder it's claimed to be a 105 day strain. Decades ago when I lived outside of Hope Arkansas (for those who do not know, the Southwest corner of Arkansas) I tried growing Durban Poison, from bagseed, and I ran out of weather before it finished. I do not believe the claims of the breeders who say 60 to 70 days about their Durban Poison. To me they are either fibbing about the number of days, or more likely, that they are fibbing when they claim what they are selling is true pure Durban Poison.

Possibly what some did was cross it with a sativa with the shortest flowering time they had in their breeding stable or could get their hands on and then took the fastest flowering phenotypes and bred them together and kept doing that until they got the flowering time down to 60 to 70 days, but still call it Durban Poison.

Durban in bagseed? Wow, how did you get your hands on that? BTW, am thinking about going to Belize, anyone know anything about the pot down there? It's illegal but I've read if you don't smoke in front of the cops and taunt them, pot flows freely. Love to get my hands on some pure sativa.

I had a neighbor who was a conscientious objector during the war in Vietnam and he had to spend the same amount of time he would have served in the military working with the Peace Corps in Africa.

He was was a wiz with electronics, later becoming a circuitry designer for Western Electric. The group he worked with would go to different African nations and to villages that did not have electricity but had a stream or a river nearby that was capable of being used to produce hydroelectric power. They would put one light in each hut and each village had one community refrigerator when they left.

On his travels he managed to run across a handful of 'unique things' and in that era if you were part of the Peace Corps when you came back to the States they just waved you through never checking you for anything, well he said they did ask if they brought any fruits, vegetables or animals with them, but they took their word for it when they said no and didn't ask about or search for anything else.

He brought back bags of pot, and in some cases just seeds, that this many decades later I cannot remember where they were all from but I do not ever remember ever hearing about some of them ever again, so they were either given some name other than the area/region they came from or never found or used by modern era breeders.

As far as Belize, I started taking/sending my own after the first trip.
Decent shit can be had, if you know the right ppl or are in the right place at the right time.
Otherwise, typical South-of-the-border Schwagg.
A good spot to retire and cop some land for cheap.
Have your U.S. retirement/SS checks set up for direct deposit down there and everything.
Nice Dutch community/country, even though it's Central America.
