Christians want to let adults freely prey on little children sexually

Meditation is a way of directly influencing the processes in the brain.

Prayer is hoping SkyDaddy can hear you and will help you.

Let me ask you something, why does a "perfect being" demand worship?

Worship implies ego which is imperfect and a human construct.
"God" doesn't require worship. The churches do. You're equating the demands of various religions with an entity you don't believe exists.

The bible states that folk pray to god to indicate that god is their "lord and saviour"
praying is a form of submitting to a master and acknowledging the power over you that you have given them

in this way it is similar to a cub scout or a military man
giving the hand signal to his superior

Bullshit.

Athiests are naturally anti-theistic because religion has demonstrably killed more people that anything else in the history of this planet.

They're also opposed to a non secular society, because a secular society doesn't stop you having your beliefs, we just don't want to hear about them.

And for the record, most of the time its people from DIFFERENT RELIGIONS who want the crosses taken down, or they want a selection of symbols instead of just a cross, so its not the atheists like you try pin it on.

Either way Jesus, Noah, Mohammed and Buddha can suck my dick, I'd go back in time and rape them all in the ear if I could.

Try magically heal that shit, bitch.
Red nailed this one.

It is not religion, religion is just an excuse as is race, class, etc...

People fight and kill for resources and power and control.

Are you trying to lump all religions together? I do not believe that some of them require worship.

I believe in a God that does not demand worship.

Many people seem to think religion is the Christian, Jewish or Muslim religions and that is all there is.

The bible isn't God. It was created by the church.

Apologists for what? LOL!!! I dont believe in the Christian God so I dont need to defend him.

I am trying to focus the debate which always seems to devolve into the Christians VS the Lions...

There are other sides to religion and spirituality.

And the Atheists say you're as wrong as the Christians.

There are NO skydaddies, regardless of what bullshit you believe, the "God of the Gaps" is getting smaller and smaller as we learn more about our universe.

So what?

I am spiritual, not religious. My god does not require faith or devotion. My god is not going to grant me benefits in this life regardless of whether I pray or not. I have nothing to prove and nothing to defend. My god does not require donations or followers so I have no reason to try to convert anyone. I am happy being spiritual. I reserve my right to worship my god however I see fit as long as it doesnt infringe on other peoples rights and laugh at people who ardently want to eliminate any symbol of religion as if it might tempt them or something.

Sure, the whole christianity god thing might be made up.

But do you believe in a spiritual god or do you ever wonder. You see, if you ever wonder then you are agnostic. Atheist is 100% sure that there is no god, nowhere, nohow. I just think a lot of serious agnostics claim atheism more for political or identification purposes rather than being 100 Atheist.

Being Atheist and being Anti-Christian are two different things. The people trying to get religious symbols removed and want prayer removed, etc are typically anti-christian/anti-religion. Atheists simply would not care.
I think in the cases where god was not completely made up, the god is based off of human encounters with aliens who possess magical technology.

I believe other life exists, even other dimensional life, which could appear to be god-like if we saw it.

Through their technology they would have powers we don't. But they would be a form of life, not unlike us.

My god is whatever being or force that created me, humanity and the galaxy. It is sort of self defining. I dont think my god cares about me particularly, I am not sure if my god is even fully aware. I just occasionally thank him for life and the gorgeous world he created or caused to be created.

Based on our limited knowledge of the nature of life and the universe I find it silly to conclude that we have reached the end of our knowledge and exploration. There are so many things we simply do not understand yet that the universe is likely vastly different than what we actually perceive.

As for aliens, I think there is a fair chance that life on earth was originally created by aliens but that is a different discussion.

The alien discussion isn't that far off. The fact that all human societies we know of had a God or gods speaks volumes to this. Perhaps the entire idea of God came from aliens visiting in our prehistoric past.

As for your God, I respect your right to believe what you want. Without trying to give an ad hominid attack, I find your notion that a God can create the universe and yet not be self aware a bit perplexing.

Well, lets suppose that we know the big bang created the universe and everything developed from there. The actual quantumphysicalmechanics of what happened at the event might not be a god, but a force of physics. In that case, I am saying thank you to what is essentially gravity. I am cool with that, I dont expect anything back, I am simply expressing my appreciation for life and sending it in that general direction.

Yeah, turning over the world to people who wish death on the elderly (or anyone you perceive as different) is bound to bring peace.

I've been considering starting a cult. It would be really cool to tell someone to bring their wife to my bedroom at 9pm.

Perhaps you could be my first member.
