i never saw one that size that was the spiral type. i've only seen the giant "grow" cfls that are more sqare shaped and overpriced from grow stores. how much was it?

They are going to make incandescent light bulbs illegal but you can purchase a 300W CFL... Fucking ridiculous...

15 bucks for that bulb is pretty good. i paid 9 bucks for a 50 watt one. in the grow store i assure you there is no such thing as a 15 dollar cfl of any wattage so great find.

I've got 3 x 105 watt (real watts) with reflector, don't know what I paid for them.

I'm running them in a closet, growing Blue Dream at the moment. :bigjoint:

i would think the giant bulbs would make nice overhead lighting and the smaller ones would be best for custom side lighting. the bigger ones are probably less efficient but with some dialing in i think a really sweet setup could be achieved. i'm trying to help a buddy set up a tiny op. i think i'll have him look into this.

Governments around the world have passed measures to prohibit the sale of incandescent light bulbs for general lighting. The aim is to encourage use of more energy-efficient lighting alternatives, such as compact fluorescent lamp (CFLs) and LED lamps. Brazil and Venezuela started to phase them out in 2005,[1] and the European Union, Switzerland,[2] and Australia[3] started to phase them out in 2009.[4] Likewise, other nations are planning scheduled phase-outs: Argentina,[5] Russia, and Canada in 2012[6], and Malaysia in 2014[7]. Although the USA is not phasing out incandescent light bulbs, it has set minimum efficiency standards for lighting which preclude most legacy incandescent designs; these minimum standards phase in between 2012 and 2014[8].
Ok, the USA is just raising the standards to the point you wont be able to purchase them. Sorta like a 2 gallon flush toilet. Essentially it is the same thing. No, you cant go to jail for having one but you cant buy them anywhere either....

But a broken CFL is a FAR greater environmental hazard than a broken incandescent light bulb. The envrionmentalists run amok...

These bulbs will grow a great plant. My son just finished a grow using three of them on one plant and he grew some really good smoke.
Three of these and some Miricle Grow Soil... out came some impressive AK-47.

I heard rumors of their existence at the Home Sinkhole last year and went running out to find them...left disappointed:(

Nice to see a pic! I have a 65/300 6500K non spiral that was bought as a unit with the security light fixture close out for 30 bucks...plus a cord. But it has a mogul base and no built in ballast.
