Canna Bio Terra Plus Soil Mix

Hello everyone. I recently began a grow using Canna's Bio Terra Plus soil (sold in 50L bags). Is anyone else using this soil? It is only on the .UK version of Canna's website right now but a local shop has shipments of BioCanna including this soil all the time. I was wondering if anyone had some experience of insight on the product. I am not a new grower and I started a dozen clones of various strains in this soil and popped them under a SunLeaves Pioneer 8 to veg. I am not having any real trouble (wetted with R/O water, watered with 50% strength Rhizotonic and 50% CalMag and now waiting) but this is primarily a peat and coco mix with very light "time release" nutes that are supposedly "idiot-proof" (I quote Canna). They claim you can water with nutes and if burning is a risk the soil will retain its nutrient value, while allowing the watered nutes to be absorbed. They also claim you don't need to be exact on the pH because the soil buffers its own constant pH...I'm not sure how the heck a soil mix can be this intelligent but I'll soon find out. Comments welcome. I will be starting a journal and putting a shit load more pots under my lights once I get the hang of this dirtless dirt and my fiance takes my camera out of her purse LOL

How'd you get on with the Bio Teraa Plus soil?

I have just purchased this myself along with the Teraa Vega & Floras.

Ive just got myself a bag of Canna Bio Terra Plus with Canna Bio Flores and Canna Bio Boost nutes. The dude in the shop says he's been using since he's been working there and has had great results. Ive just planted mine 2 days ago. Growing them from seed... Trainwreck and Cheese...

I found that with the Bio Boost you pretty much have to use it at about 4mils per litre dilution to get the same results as the higher priced Canna Boost. The Canna gods kinda allude to this on the back to by giving you the option of 2 mils 'but for big bud...' 4 mils.

I'm trying this right now, have 2 power skunk seedlings in straight Bio Terra Plus, and a mixture of cheap organic potting soil, vermiculite, perlite, worm castings, bat guano, chicken manure, and the Bio Terra Plus in all my other buckets. Using BioVega and Rhizotonic every few days on everything.

Rhizotonic is great for stimulating lots of root growth. I used to use it from cloning to finish but now from cloning till the big switch to 12/12. Hard to get hold of here, got to saver it

Hmm, someone dug up my old thread. I tanked that batch in Canna Bio Terra Soil due to overwatering. I tried Canna's Coco instead and had excellent results but the reinvestment cost per cycle was rediculously high so I decided to mix and match. Right now I am using sunhine grow mix #4 straight from the bale for better aeration and drainage but I would still like to ammend Canna soil with a LOT of perlite and see how that goes. I also stopped using Rhizotonic. I am using House and Garden's Root Excellurator. It is more or less the same shit as Rhizotonic but at the dilution of 1ml/gal. It also comes in an aluminum bottle so it lasts longer. It also ends up being cheaper to use at proper strength, you have to use 10 times the Rhizotonic and a liter is $60. 500ml of Roots Excellurator is $110. Makes sense to me. I am still using Canna Terra Vega and Flores for base soil nutes. I noticed the veg mix is pretty heavy on the dillution but I use 50% strength on my mothers as needed with some Liquid Karma every 3 or 4 waterings. I used Boost (not bio) in coco and loved it and I am using Bio Boost in the soil run right now. I also use Sweet heavily but would like to try Sweet Leaf soon. Sadly since the O.P. I had to move and nolonger have access to a single decent hydro shop. There are a couple with poor selection and terrible prices in case UPS fails me on something time critical.

Yeah I hear you about the prices, but it Rhiz is my one indulgence.

I think you get better value for money with Boost than Bio Boost, but then that is a choice about organic vs non organic. But with the Bio Boost it has the mix at 2 mils per litre, or......, 4 mils for big bud. Well who is going to use 2 mils and miss out on big bud... noone, so you end up using twice as much as you would with Boost which is just 2 mils per litre.

Getting the full range of Canna where I live is pretty difficult. Canna is about the best brand sold here, then Canadian Xpress. Its those or some local brewed stuff which is high in salt and average in all depts of growth.

I also use coco to grow in but the prices for Canna Coco here are ridiculous, makes me want to raise my fists like that Canna gorilla, at the Canna gods for their extreme prices.



So I use Max Coco which is not the best but does the trick and is a 3rd of the price of Canna Coco.

I've got 2 Power Skunk seedlings in the BioCanna soil right now, and I mixed it in with my soil mix for the others. Using BioVega and Rhizotonic...and BMO Super Plant Tonic.

Wow i got it made, a full Canna dealer a mile from my house and 4 hydro shops all within 30 minutes. I'm just starting with the Canna Terra & I'll see how it goes. I'm cautious about all the additives since I had good success without any of them.

In the 1st post they used 50% cal/mag early on which is not needed right away. Canna BioTerra has plenty of nutes for 2-3 weeks for small plants.

The Canna BioTerra can be re-used which lowers the overall cost and it's all organic. Lots of different peat but no perlite (they say u don't need it. It's $22. USA for the 50 litre bag at my store.

not yet started flowering so havnt got a flowering booster yet,, was gunna get canna bio boost but dont really get what it is, it sounds like it does the exact same job as molasses????? surely canna pk13/14 or hammer head would be better,?????

I'm on my 2nd grow with Bioterra right now, about 5 weeks into flowering and still easing off the Biovega, (I pulled it too soon last time and the yellowing was disastrous) still giving little bit of Cannazym and Rhiotonic...I'm still on my first original bottles of all 3, and the Rhizotonic and Cannazym are the small bottles! I'm using BMO Foliar Harmony and Flower Power in larger doses for flowering again since I never seem to have the $ to spring for the Biocanna flowering stuff ($100+).

bio canna boost i get for 15 pound
vega= 12,99 pound
flores= 12.99 pound
and rithz & zym 10 pound each

That's cheap...the regular sized bottles of Biovega are $32 here, and the stuff that's supposed to increase bud production is over $100.

Just sprung for the legendary Boost today, (just a small bottle) and picked up a liter of Flores as well...can't wait to see the results.

250ml...it says it's a "bloom enhancer" the guy at my local grow shop says it's supposed to increase bud size by 30%...I'm adding it in a little late in the grow, but we'll see if there's a noticeable difference. It's supposed to make everything taste better as well. Wish I had enough to try it on my veggies...waaaaay too expensive for that though.

I love how all the Biocanna bottles are made from biodegradable, recyclable plastic with no PVC.

i think i guna get biobizz top max,, its the samething but 5pound cheaper and 500ml, unless u start seeing results

Hey guys, just ordered a couple bags of the bio terra, floras and vega.. anybody have any tips for me... this is my first soil grow and would like any help I could get.

Just got some Cocodan Croutons ($16/bag) to mix into Bioterra for my next grow. Haven't tried this mix before but I need to lighten the Bioterra up, too much water sits in it and makes my grows susceptible to fungus gnats. I'll still be mixing bat guano in at the bottom and worm castings in the middle and top. Hopeful this mix will be the one...
