Sometimes it seems like they are just giving excuses.

Most of the explanations about market moves ARE bullshit. They're just guessing.

When the cost per barrel goes up the price is increased immediately, yet when the cost goes down they wait a few days to a week for it to average out before readjusting it.
Its scummy and unfortunately only one of the reasons our economy has turned to shit.
The government has been feeding people "just the tip" for so long that no one realizes just how deep they are now getting it.

You can buy futures in oil if you want to bet on higher crude prices at some far off time. It's the Saudis that are putting the squeese on, both Russia and North America. They don't like Putin and they hope to bankrupt the companies that have found the technology to make us independant of their oil.

Not true. While refineries adjust their additives for the climate, it cost no more to produce gasoline for summer use than it does for winter.

I think we should tax fossil fuels based on their carbon content and the excess used in its production, thus taxing coal more heavily than gas, natural gas and propane much less- and production sites like the Alberta Tar Sands which use 15-25 bbl per barrel of finished saleable product would be totally unsustainable.
better yet... just don't use the trash...

My only agenda is to over throw our corrupt government. Harper didn't have the foresight to divesify and put all Canadians eggs in one basket against our wishes. He is supposed to be working for us, we're the boss not him.

I'm working on it. Meanwhile, less is still better. Who here is carbon free- or even neutral- and still grows with artificial lighting?better yet... just don't use the trash...
I believe the bridge from here to there can be built with natural gas and fuel cell technology. Solar panels and wind can certainly help but you can't build a fully stable, around the clock grid with them.

Its no longer just the price at the pump anymore.....
its the price that... each and every barrel.... we and others produce,
will subjugate us.... environmentally the monetary aspect will expand exponentially,
until....we break under the stress and are not even globally able to throw enough money at things,,,to make
a difference.
and if you still believe the TV commercials.....about fuel efficient enough vehicles to save the world....
then there is not much help left for you....

hold out hope ...because I also know, its my kid,,, who is one of those people left with responsibility to try and fix things....
and she is the smartest person I know

Ya it's too late for our generation, we need to teach our kids. They will be the ones who can really make a difference. It's up to their parents to educate them. We need to break our reliance on fossil non renewable fuels.
