Can THC escape in the steam?

When making butter could the THC escape in the steam while simmering? I was just reading a thread and someone mentioned keeping the lid on tight so the THC doesn't escape. Now when I put the lid on the butter just boils up and out the pot. The butter was weak but so where the buds.

i know it will vaporize beyond a certain temp...i think its like 180 degrees

as far as i know, when making butter, that THC will attatch to the fatty molecules long before they vape to the point of escaping out with the heat. though iam not positive. the reason i say this is because ive been taught 2 things

1. THC likes to attatch to fatty molecules
2. THC is not water soluble.

so just my .02, i would say dont worry about it.
