I once kept a plant going for 5 months because I didn't know I had to 12/12, thing was taaallll. So what's the longest veg you've heard of? Is a year possible, I know it's not worth it but whatever.

I don't know this as a fact but I have strains that the mothers are a year old so I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes but I wouldn't quote me on that...lol

Yeah you can, but why? At full strength nute use the plant will stress and begin to start throwing/showing pre flowering. Keep in mind that Cannabis is an annual plant. That means it lives for 1 season, reproduces and dies. The longer the plant veg's over it's natural time, the more stress it will have. Mother plants are feed at a reduced nutrient rate to reduce the amount of stress and keep them healthy longer. Sativa's veg longer and flower longer due to the natural climate conditions they grow in.

if ur inside controlling light, u can veg for a year. long as u don't let um get a 12/12 cycle ie keeping a mother. keep them 18/6

i guess u can veg for as long as u want. the stem will get woody. but can u imagine the colas on that bitch when she flowers? its just that u wanna keep it vigorous. i would root prune once in a while, top prune, anything that will keep her looking voluptuous :)

Are we both growing the same plant?

Mother plants can be kept in a vegetative state indefinitely as long as their nutrient needs are met and they are kept in proper light cycle along with preferential climate.

What does a "stressed" mother plant look like? Root bound? That's a different problem.

It didn't occur to me to Top/FiM it, I wonder if I can top the top's when they get big enough?

This is going to be fun and interesting, i'll start a grow journal next month. :weed:

Yes. I know some outdoor growers that start vegging in october and put them out in june.

They become giant yielding trees.
