Cali connection grape kush search for the purple.

well the sweet and lovely sherry (and im not just saying that, she really is a sweetheart) from the GorrilaSeedBank hooked up some grape kush seeds from cali connection. So lets make some show and tell happen so the RIU community can see what their gear looks like when it grows out.

First off my review of the GorrilaSeedBank is top notch so far. Theyre doing great things for the members of RIU, so a personal thanks goes out to you. Seeds arrived in like ten days and were all there and they came with a bunch of freebies which were appriciated.

I decided to sprout four of the six grape kush seeds and the free widow, og kush, and my lemon auto. My method for sprouting seeds is simple and effective.

Soak seeds in water for 12 hrs. Then dampen dirt in a big bowl and fill small containers. Poke a hole and drop the soaked seeds in and cover gently. Take seeded containers and place them in the dark for 48 hrs at 78-81 degrees. Open the box or cabinet theyre in and take out the ones that have popped and place them under the light. Return the unsprouted ones to the dark warm place and wait longer. If theyre not up in 4 days they probably arent good seed But im happy to say my order had an over 100% germination rate. Impossible you say?! well the GK had a twin pop up. Awwes. I was hoping to train them apart like ive done for twins in the past but one was weak....SO I KILLED IT!!!
Now its just a single plant and doing fine. Its a little slower than the rest but it was sharing a seed coat with a sister.

Babies..... If you look real close at the GK closest you can see the twin.

Ok so well skip ahead to the better stuff because nobody likes to watch babies grow. Theyre small and pathetic and nobody cares. So now were at the seventh node or so and theyre starting to alternate. The stems are nice and thick just like fresh genetics like to produce and theyre looking great. GK is kinda all over the place. Out of the four theres one big one, one small one, and two in the middle. OGK is pretty tall and the LA lemon auto is pretty tall too.

Looks great man...hope you find that purple .

Thanks buddy, i heard from another guy who ran this plant that its pretty good so even if i dont find a purple one, maybe ill find a keeper

Been checking dudes instagram. All the grape o.g have been dark purple fire looking plants. Good luck on the grow.

So the plants are doing pretty well. I tend to cram them onto tables so they grow tallish rather than fatish because theyre competing for light. But then i space them out and they fill the horizontal space up while i train, top, and break them to get an even canopy. Anyway, im cruising along at between 350 and 550 ppms in soiless with no runoff yet. I feed low because i dont give the plant much leaching from runoff. Ill flush more later on when im feeding harder in flower.
The grape kush is on the left. Widow in the middle, and og kush on the right. GK looks like it needs a little training and more lateral room to grow but theyre bigger than the other two although ogk is taller. Widow has beautiful structure and its looking like a production style plant. Im not betting the farm on it since it was free but ill take clones just in case
GK has a remarkably thick stalk and side branches. Looking pretty good i think and once it gets topped and gets more room im expecting it to start looking better. Theyre about seven weeks old vegged under t5s. They just hit the hps because the rest have outgrown the veg room and flower has more space and hids.

Interested in seeing how your OG does. Someone I chat with a lot here just harvested his ILGM OG Kush, and I'm currently flowering the ILGM OG Kush. He was satisfied with his and mine is doing awesome.

Things are looking good in the grow. Co2 is on and small ones have been doubling in size daily and larger ones are moving like a junkie on a stolen bike. The grape kush four have all taken on different characteristics. Theres a tall one two medium ones, and a runt. The runt is super wide leafed and has a tight noded structure. I cant count it out yet, although all signs point to bad producer, it might do better after clone than from seed...as far as grow speed goes. Who knows. Plant pics to follow.

Ok so heres the girls. Lefty is the shorty. Her leaves are huge and the size of them is crazy. Bigger than my hand. 2 and 4 are the medium ones and the tallest one is number three. The tall one looks to have potential too so well see. As long as the tall one isnt a male ill be happy. The beans are fem so we're hoping for the best.
