When I transplanted up an went from t5 to my diy cobs the plants took a minute to dounce back and be able to handle the light they were receiving even below half power with the cobs... The cobs also turned them into little mag whores vs. my hps runs... :)
so far all of my grows have need alot of mag. Pretty sure its because of the "soiless". It doesnt hold nutes like soil would. Its almost like hydro without all the pumps and res. Im pondering switching to some sort of soil after this grow.

I love growing with coco but a lot of cod diy guys are running organic soil and grabbing good gpw with it... I cut my teeth and ran soil for a few years and don't think I could go back... :)

Soiless has been good to me. It requires lots of nutes since you feed every time you water and you water a lot. But it's really forgiving. I have noticed towards the end of the grow I start getting nute burn. It must start loading up with nutes when the concentrations are higher. I'll start just watering every other time.

She's not doing well. Looks like it's got a dark purple vein on the leaves and the stems are really purple too. Fed at 400ppm and ph was at 6.9. I know that's high but for some reason with this soiless setup it works. Or at least it worked on pennywise. It was fine under cfls in a solo cup. Do I not have enough heat? It's 68-70 with the light on. image.jpeg

Soiless will give you a better yeild every time. ;) As for the babies, have you considered it may be over watered? Its a big pot for a small plant with low temps so the vascular system is probably running slow because of the cold if youve put a lot of water into it. Some guys will put a space heater on a timer on 15 min bursts in the room to get some heat pumpin especially for right before the lights come on, or itll take a while for the rootzone which is usually colder than the canopy, to warm up to an efficient running temp.

Your plant is overwatered. Wait longer or use less water.

How much and how often are you watering?

I think it's a combo of things. 1. My grow hasn't ran all winter so the concrete is kinda cold. Takes time to get heat in it. 2. I used some medium that was in the garage. It was cold. 3. I watered the whole pot instead of just around the plant. And 4. This light puts of ZERO heat! So tomorrow I'll get a little heater to go down by the pot till I can figure up a better solution. I'm used to 75-80 degree temps. I just wasn't thinking a lot on this grow. Win or lose I'm still learning. I'll apply that knowledge next grow.

Yep that's all it was. Too cold. Got it warmed up and it opened right up. I had been leaving the door open the last couple days till I could getimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Finally started weaving. Can't believe the difference a light makes. No more hot spots. It's growing evenly. It's all one solid dark green color. My plants before you could tell what was and wasn't getting light. Might only veg another week or so cause this is a hybrid and I might need the extra room in the screen for weaving when it stretches. Once I get a decent canopy I'll trim all the bottom leaves. Feeding at 400ppm veg& bloom with a teaspoon of calmag. Only watering/feeding every 6-8 days too. Used to have to water every 2 with mh/hps image.jpegimage.jpeg

Looking good! :) Your waiting to flip your heater off and I'm about to flip my a/c on. I get a 5° rise in temps from the room in my tent with 400 watts of cobs rolling in there... :)

Are you using the total footprint of your light? It looks like you could flatten her out a little more to the sides and fill the screen more.
