Cafe Politics: Name Calling and/or General Rude Behavior

Your post started off as a question of a more serious nature then descended into something quiet different
(some kind of moral rant)
not sure why you felt the need to do that
And still is about the serious question. My intention was not to cloud the issue my personal feelings.

RIU literally allows white supremacists, holocaust deniers, white nationalists, and white separatists on this forum.

so there's definitely gonna be some discord, since stoners come in all colors and religions.
Interestingly enough they also allow you to still post here.

Again! I think there is difference between free speech and name calling / personal verbal attacks / general rude behavior.

There are ramifications for violating the tos - stern notes (PM's) from the hall monitor, warnings from same and banning are some of the tools in the box.
We try and be fair about this, but of course not all will agree with mod decisions.

We in fact can cross check ip addresses, if a problem member shows back up under an assumed name it is easily identified and dealt with.
Freedom of speech is very important to us and we definitely attempt to afford leeway, however once the conversation crosses over into personal attack and name calling the gloves come off & Mod's are allowed to use their best discretion.

The system works pretty well but if one thinks it's bias or not fair, I suggest you come and sit on the fence with us - it's not as easy as you may think.
Thank you for confirming what I thought was the case, and taking the time to do so. Also for the time you and the others put in to keeping this open forum. If I had a like button on this post I would have used it.

I have hosted similar services, and performed similar tasks in my past. I also realize that it is going to take some adjustment by some members for their continued use, as I believe the banner notification is relatively new.

My thoughts are if adhered to it benefits everyone by keeping the discussion on point, and with less distraction. I know this is asking a lot from stoners, but we is one.

They also allow narcissistic, know-it-all, progressive Liberals who are still arguing about the Trayvan Martin verdict. What's your point?

Only in the USA do they allow free speech. And even that is erroding with Zones of speech.

Zones will bring blood. OK, somehow for a college campus, but don't get confused. For adults there is no such thing.

The ROW censors speech, Canada and all Commonwealth, especially.

comparing my posts to those that which we see from our neo-nazi members seems like a generally rude personal attack to me, mr. 12-posts.

That is the problem with political discussions, you feel one way about something others feel a different way. But because they feel different you have to call names and act like a 10 year old. Maybe if you gave some people some respect they might take you seriously.

You must be genuinely retarded if you think the US is the only place with free speech.

Travel a bit around the world Doer, it might broaden your horizons a bit.
