Busted!!!!!

My grow was busted!!!! I was served a search warrant for sativa plant, nutrients, lights, and other equipment related to indoor growing operation. Crazy shit being woke up in the middle of night in my bed telling me to get up we have a search warrant. I got up and read it with my blurry vision and thought I was dreaming. After I read it and obviously seen they knew exactly what I had I brought them downstairs into my locked utility room that I had them open up with a pocket knife lol because I couldnt remember where the key was and showed them my 1 dwc mature plant and some freshly rooted clones that put me just one plant over to felony status. Luckily it was harvest time and I only had a 1 gram bud, 1 bowl and a grinder in my garage. My house is pretty big and they searched for 3 hours thinking they were going to find some dried quantity but they didnt and seemed pretty upset. They were sweating and tired as shit after they removed my equipment while I was talking about the economy with deputy that was there for backup at the dinner table. The lead investigator told me he had seen alot of grow ops, plants and high times pics and my plant by far was the most impressive plant he has ever seen. They all were fascinated with the simplicity of the setup and the whole hydro roots in the water deal lol. Towards the end the detective finally gave in to the fact this was a small personal grow with no evidence of me selling. I didnt lie to them and I was very respectful and they gave me the same respect. They all were actually making me feel like I wasnt doing anything wrong and this was no big deal afterwards. The county boy was telling me someone always goes to jail early in the night and that the guy in street clothes will let me know whats up when their done. Well after they were done and had my beautiful scrog plant still intact outside he told me he wasnt going to arrest me and to meet him at his office after they leave to give a quick statement. So I did and he was bullshitting with me about his job and telling me he is gonna make sure he lets the DA know how good a guy I was and that this was small personal grow up and said he didnt want to make me any promises but told me to worry about and I will be fine. I havent heard a word for 2 days now but they usually take felony cases to grand jury for indictment and that happens twice a month but as of now I have no charges.

So now lets get to what led to this. First of all I was a bit careless. I am renting from these rich arrogant crazy assholes that told me he was going to cut my leg off because I argued with him over some silly shit regarding a stain on the carpet lol. I was in the process of buying a home on contract in 2 weeks from landlords son so they wanted to show some possible renters the house and I am in now and said they would only be 20 min. I locked the door to the utility room and left for 30 min and came back and they were gone. That night cops were at my house with a warrant and within hours my realitor is calling me saying he heard a rumor from the person I was buying house from that cops were there, house was destroyed and bunch of people were in jail. Then old man landlord calls and ask me what that duct work running across utility room was for and blah blah blah goin off. He could of only seen that ductwork if they broke into that locked door to utility room and seen the my shit and then called his detective buddy which name is on search warrant. So Im thinking they illegally gained access to that room to obtain information to get warrant. The detective who initiated warrant didnt talk to me and seemed really pissed he didnt find anything else besides that. It was the other investigator who actually spoke with me and gave me interview and is was so brief like it was no big deal. What do you all think about this? Nobody has seen my grow and guaranteed to of came from showing earlier that day. Im really not worried even if they charge me because penalty is minimal for first time offender and drug program removes from record after a year

Im in Illinois and yeah its was def the landlord because they killed the contract for deed the next day and I got my money down back. The old man came over today to see if there was any damage which there wasnt and he was saying Im lucky my ass aint in jail and I got rid of the other shit. I was like what are you talking about and he kept referring to the ducting running across the room and said you dont use that for growing its was for meth. I laughed at him said obviously you dont know what the hell your talking about I had 1000w bulb producing massive heat that I was exhausting and he shut up. He said well I heard it was good shit. Then as he was leaving he asked where I was moving to and I said obviously have to find somewhere to rent and he said to put a ad in the paper "looking for house to rent offering free weed". I found some info on him that he was federally prosecuted for distrubiting 10 pounds of weed a week back in the 70's and served some prison time. They are all known for being coke heads and drug dealers so I assumed if they ever caught wind of it they would just confront me and tell me to get the fuck out but I was wrong. They are snitch bitches thinking I was gonna go to jail and they would take possession of the house and my shit. I own 2 businesses and have alot equipment, vehicles and toys and must of assumed I was selling for a living. It sucks because that was my only hobby and I put my all into it. This is a small town with nothing but dirt weed around so now I have no good smoke to enjoy my evening with except for they cops left my scissors I trimmed with resin all over them and left scales in my dry cabinet and pulled out another scale out of my dresser drawer and just left it on my dresser which had sticky resin all over them. I found that very odd that they didnt take them because I know they knew what they were for.

I almost want to be charged so I can get the affidavit to see what info they used to get a judge to sign the warrant. They had to of broke into the room and seen my shit which I dont think is legal in the first place. The police are known for being fucking up drug case around here and I would put money on it that this was an illegal search.

shit bro you need to move to a medical state. i had the fbi see my setup and they did nothing. it was not involving drugs though or even me. i had my grow at a friends and he was involved with some shady people. they called me for a key to the room and they actually thought my grow was really nice. it was only a small grow though and state legal.

i wouldnt fuck with people like that, that have money. a lot of times they have connections to cops and corruption. money buys all, it's the sad truth. hopefully karma will serve them.

years ago i had a friend that got in trouble trying to smuggle a little weed out of illinois. just like a qp or something like that. he actually got let off because the cops did something shady. think some of the weed came up missing or something lke that lol.

First shut your mouth to the cops. SHUT UP! Then hire a lawyer and a good one at that. If the cops try to talk to you then, you tell them only with your attorney present. DO NOT LIE EVER! Lying can be used to charge you with impeding an investigation and that is always a felony by itself.

Tell the lawyer 100% of the truth. They can't help you otherwise. Until a lawyer tells you otherwise STFU and that includes on here.

does your landlord not tell you when he's coming over or just pops up?
I for one would not feel right leaving them in the house by themselves to wander around.

I will take your advice hotrodharley, I already am in search of lawyer specialized in these cases. I know it may of not been wise to to give them that interview but my cooperation is why i am not in jail right now and its a class 4 felony and they have this drug court that guarentees no jail and wiped off your record if you go through their stupid program so Im not worried about the worst case scenario because it was what it was. But I will fight the warrant if it happened the way it did for the cause. I never lied to them at all and he thanked me for being so honest and respectful and that he has never had such a pleasant search. He also coached my interview to prove it was a hobby and I was not selling and talked to me outside for 30 minutes about video games he plays. I just had a really good vibe about him like he respected me and was going to do whatever he could to make this easy or like it never happened.

I would not have left my crib while people were looking around in it if I was growing a fucking pot plant in a closet. I mean c'mon man. Use a llittle common sense here. You should have shut shit down and moved it for the brief amount of time it took them to show the place. With that being said, I would be getting an attourney asap, and he can give you the correct low down on your situation. All your are going to get on here is a bunch of bullshit opinions on the matter. You said you are being charged with a felony which is very very bad! That is why you need a lawyer, but I think it is crazy to be charged with a felony for having only one plant. Well you had clones too. I'm assuming that they are counting each one of them as a plant as well, so your plant count will go up because of that. You are lucky that you didn't have a large quantity of weed as well. Did you have any scales by any chance? I have heard that they can charge you with trafficking just because you have scales in your possession. I know that doesn't pertain to you since you didn't say anything like that, but I thought it was interesting none the less. Anyways it sounds like the detective doesn't have it out for ya, so that could help when it comes to how the prosecutor proceeds. Like I said man the first thing you need to do is to find a good lawyer, and talk to him/her. They can figure out exactly what is going on with your case. Best of luck!

I also want to say thanks for all the help and everything I learned from members. Hopefully people will wise up and legalize so people arent made out to be criminals for growing a plant thats never killed or hurt anyone. Peace Out

You need to get hold of an attorney, make friends, and he would be able to tell you right off if there's anything pending in grand jury.
I had a similar instance with one of my guns when I got pulled over one night for chasing this kid that had threatened me during the day. The city that I was stopped in didn't like me, but they were dispatched at night through the city that I worked in, so when backup showed up, I had friends there as well.
I was actually cuffed, leaning against a city car chatting with one of my buddies, when they went to search my car, leaned in, came up with the gun (which I had already told them where it was, and that it was loaded) in the opposite hand than it should have been in, and exclaimed "I found it under the seat!"
Clear view to the guys from my city showed it was in the wrong hand, and after a lengthy book and release, I got a ride back to my car (that they refused to impound despite my requests) to find all my windows broken.
I found it extremely coincidental that the locals had refused to tow the car, then the damage occurs, then they refuse to take fingerprints or a blood sample of the blood running down the fender.
Needless to say, the next morning I made a phone call to my buddy who was an attorney, and over the course of the next 2 weeks, told me not to even show up in court for the 5 charges because the D.A. refused to charge me. Then he filed a government claim against the city (which my then wife made me drop to avoid further hassle with them).

I know you can't go back in time,but I really do agree with what kentuckyboy said.I think the situation could have been avoided,I don't care how long the equipment took to put up,it will sure as hell save your ass some jail or prison time,I would have atleast have a shed with a lock on it in the back yard on the property so when the landlord does say he's on his way with potential renters,rip all that shit down and stick in the shed,bcuz when a landlord is showing people the house,rooms are not off limits and they will look everywhere,so hope everything will go smooth for you bro,next time think a little bit more,even if it is one plant,and a few clones.

Thanks you all, and thats why I wanted to inform you all because I was careless and stupid assuming the best and not the worst by letting someone in my house while not there. I didnt think they would break into the utility room and would be in and out but I underestimated them. Im gonna be fine and this was a lesson learned but I cant grow anymore and that is the worst thing about this to me. I feel I lost a piece of me when they took my shit.

What part of Illinois? I am from Chicago and just moved to michigan 4 months ago...I fuckin love it!!!! should have my card in about 3 weeks..I can give ya the name of a couple great attorneys who have beaten REAL cases with serious weight..and they won't rape you on the fee...time to move north brother
