Larry do you have any tips for keeping out coyotes? A bunch just devastated my crops 
, I created small wooden barriers out of sticks but they just laughed at it. Stealth isn't so much of a concern, except for it being spotted from the air. Taking a piss near the crops isn't going to cut it either...damn blood meal attracting em..

That stinks. As far as I know, I've never had a coyote problem. You can put up a cage around each plant if that is possible. Wire and T-posts will keep them out. My BIL used to have to build a fence around his patches, but that was for deer.Larry do you have any tips for keeping out coyotes? A bunch just devastated my crops
Or if you know for a fact that no dogs are around, you can put out a dish of anti-freeze. The old stuff. It will kill them. Not a good way to die, though.
Another thing would be to put something even smellier than the blood meal nearby. I don't use very much of the organic stuff for that reason. And you can use pee mixed with water instead of blood meal. Just about the same npk.

The cages look great. I've made a few, but they are being put to use in the pepper patch.Thanks, I ended up making welded wire cages for them. It will also double as a support cage during bloom which is nice
More $ and a pain to do but the result looks great, looks a bit like this now:

Ok so here's the shit I'm dealing with, sorry to thread hi-jack
I know the cage should be like a foot deep in dirt but I thought (more like hoped) a quick stakedown could work. On the upside the cage stayed upright and plant was undamaged. I attached a photo of my current fix but it's not going to help much.

I can't be sure but coyotes is my bet. Seen one in the area last year and recently I stumbled upon feathers from a bird (turkey?) that was ravaged by something. Also I often see track marks from some pack animal but I don't suspect it's deer.

You can peg that cage down with steel electric fence posts. Not sure what they cost these days, but they are about three feet tall with a little fin on the bottom for pushing into the dirt. I have hundreds of them from my cattle farming days.

This week was a big work week in the Larry woods. This is the tops I picked on Wednesday, morning on the left, afternoon on the right. Until my buddy can pick me up another bag of bought weed, the smoke mix will be getting greener and greener.

Those are replacements of some that cashed. The GN patch is one of the hardest to get water too, so they will not get too big. The GN patch is far enough away that the Bag Seed Testers can't put any pollen to my Sidetracked: plants. I want to get some seeds off them, and just see how they grow in general.
The three BST2's in the FP patch are already bigger than most of the older stuff because of the water supply.

I did a lot of super cropping this week. When done right, it saves time.
When not, well holding up a broken branch while trying to reach something to use as a crutch isn't too time efficient.

Years ago my cousin Wayne told me he was giving up smoking weed. I was rather taken aback, as he was a bigger smoker than I was. I ask him why he wasn't going to get high anymore. He said, "oh, I'm not giving up dope, just weed. I'm smoking nothing but tops and buds from now on. No more leaves for me."
I always think of Wayne {God bless his soul} when I get to the top smoking part of summer. Though he never got near NYC, this song does remind me of the good times we had together back in the day.
