Bud extensions?

Hello growers,

A few of my buds decided they werent' long enough and have grown a spindly little extension out the top. Its not really filling out though. Is this normal or some symptom of stress?

Well its a tent, its probably not perfectly light tight. No tears or dodgy tape jobs though. Impossible for me to check right now with the tent full of plant.

thats called foxtailing, its when single calyxes stack. sometimes its genetic, but most of the time its caused by some kind of stress, can be heat stress, can be because the plant is past the point of ripeness

but that is some major league lookin foxtails....

Ok. We have just had a really nasty heatwave, lasted about 10 days. Weather is mild now so hopefully no more. Less than 2 weeks to go till harvest.

Your N is high.
You say there was some heat issues.
Not to mention that they look rather Sativa heavy as far as genetics.
High light intensity - On strains that can....(observation)

Sativa has strains that do that, period! Passing that trait along in breeding is common for the strains that do. At least to some point.

Now combine all the 4 things (or the first 3 for sure). That is what I feel is your problem.....

They're not a desired thing. But not really hurting the plant either.
