Area:
2'7"x1'4"x1'10" (31"x16"x22")
Lighting:
6x 42w = 252w / 15,600 Lumen's
8x 26w = 208w / 12,800 Lumen's
Total 460w / 28,400 Lumens
Pots:
28 1/2 2 Liter's
Plants:
56 Plants. 2 Plants Per 1/2 2 Liter
Grow Style:
CFL SOG
Goal:
Illusive 1g per watt

The Below image is the basic layout for this grow.

(NOTE: I am an HPS grower, After looking into the CFL forums and seeing a lot of great results with CFL I wanted to give it a go and see if I could reach the 1g per watt goal that so many attempt to get. )

For almost a month I had been taking clones but scratching my head as to why the clones were taking so long to root. ( The seed to Mother journal for this Bubblelicious can be found here. )Well as luck may have it the rockwool that the clones were put into was somehow contaminated down the road. So rooting took literaly forever for a lot of clones. Most of the contaminated rockwool clones have major wilting issue's (though they will make it but be nothing more than a nugget). New good clones will be added until the flower area is full. When the area is full all clones from the contaminated rockwool that have not started to grow or look like they will only produce a nugget will be remove & replaced with good clones. (More than enough clones have been taken to replace all wilted clones & fill the rest of the area).

Please keep in mind that initial pictures will contain a lot of wilted clones, As I stated above this was due to contaminated rockwool & these clones will be replaced once the entire area is full of good clones.

400 watt metal halide gives you far more lumens then 460 watts of CFL's
I have tried both, CFL's are good for starting new plants, in my opinion.
Too maturity???

Ya i could plug in the HPS but it would defeat the whole idea of testing out CFL's :p lol (Thus why i designated a 22" tall area for this test grow :p)

Hey i'm right there with ya man, I used to think "Flower with CFL? Your a freeking moron!!" But not anymore after seeing some of the grows HERE. .

Throughout reading the CFL forums for quite some time watching these amazing little micro cfl grows I decided i had to give it a shot at least. The HPS is not going anywhere and eventually the bubblelicious will find its way to it, but for now its CFL testing time.

First Pics so we will call this day 1 of flower (even though some clones are on day 5 of flowering).

Ok 95% of the 32 plants that are currently in the flower area should survive. New growth is appearing on those that were extremely wilted. Some will still be surely removed since I do not see them producing more than just a base nugget. The rest of the clones are almost done & will be added to the flowering area within a few days along with the removal of any wilted clones that I think will only produce a base nugget.

Anyways heres 2 el cheepo pics just to put some up. Daily pics will occur from now till first Harvest..

*** NOTE ***
Before you go telling me my crap is dead
READ my initial post for answer to why its like it is.

Nope no clue how it had gotten contaminated so i just tossed the blocks I had left.

Ya most of the wilted plants have started to push out some new growth, but some of them I will not let grow much longer, a nugget --------------------- big is a little pointless and a waste of space and electric bill :p Especially when i have enough clones to re-populate the CFL flowering area like x10 times lol..

ya I better get more than a gram per plant or else these CFL's are going to find there way to outlets through the house lol. (1g was just my guestimate if I was to leave the really bad wilted ones in there without replacing them :)

I need like 7g per plant to hit 1g per watt. (more like 8g)

8g doesn't seem like very much per plant but then i'm thinking of SOG with HPS not cfl. hopefully 7-8g per plant with CFL is doable :p only time will tell :) either way this lil CFL journey should be a fun one. I can't wait for all the ups and downs that come with a new method :p :)

you know, ive had nothing but up's with cfl's i mean this is my 3rd grow. and with the cfl's its the first time ive made it this far. nothing bad has happen yet, ( knock on wood ) and im almost 3 weeks into flowering. and it looks AMAZING so just keep growing! cfl's the cheapest way to go, im on a low budget so i couldn't afford a HPS or MH , plus im running a total of 141 watts.. for 1 plant, geeze i hope i get 1 gram per watt LOL i 12/12'd when it was like 2 weeks old. its about a foot tall now, well you know.... lol

looks like you need to lower the lights a little bit? or it might just be the pic.. iunno.
ya they need to be a little bit closer but they are only about 2" from most tops right now (well ones directly below). I put them a little higher to start since the clones were already hating life from the contaminated rw being any closer would have been sure death for most of them.

the the small area thats being covered right now is really only like 1.5sq ft and theres 11600 lums sitting right above so there ok at least when there so small. Ty though :) Def toss out any info you would like to share, I am stubborn and set in my ways and will do things my way regardless lol but every bit of input you and everyone else has is greatly appreciated. The most important thing is when the day of harvest comes someone out there has gotten something out of a thread :p be it bud pron or tossing idea's back and forth :)

seems some of them have already perked up quite a bit... cant wait to see a sea of nuggets
LoL ya they have perked up quite a bit. I def need to get all the plants in there :p just a lazy bastard when it comes down to it rofl. :p haha

A male has been removed from the veg area & flowering clones taken from the male will be removed if any are in the flower area. chances are there is not any even in the room considering how many casualties the clones suffered from the chemical attack launched by the rockwool. Freekin grodan's I tell ya.

Day 4

I decided to wait a day to place the new clones into soil in the flower area, they have somewhat of a root system but I'm going to let it get a little bigger before i put them into 2 liters.

The clones & there humidity dome have been put into the flower area though :p might as well let them start there flowering delay while i wait for a larger root ball.

I have 9 more 2 liters to put into the area. This will fill my area and bring the total number of plants to 56!!

there are 2x more 42w & 2x more 23w to be added. when the last rows of clones are added.

Below is just a pic of the plants today.

Just a little flower area info.

(and yes i haven't made reflectors, maybe when they get there perms ill make something :p

Air intake is just a O shaped whole up in the right hand corner & also a 1/2" slit that goes from the center of the front bottom to the back (its on the floor.)
Also in this corner is a small fan pointing diagnal down the the left hand corner.

Exhaust is just a good PC Fan. Air is cycled through the area faster than it can become too warm. so airflow is pretty good.

Area left/right/top/bottom & back are lined with a thin clear layer of plastic.
Front doors have black foam lining the area's doors edge and create a light seal & air seal.

The floor of the flowering area has a 1/2" wide opening that goes from the front of the box to the back of the box exactly centered in the area. Below the 1/2" gap is a peice of plastic in a U pattern so that all excess water drainage from the flower area drains through 1/2" crack into the U shape plastic then directly to the houses drainage foundation. (this also serves as another air intake, air pulled into the area from here is much cooler since it is drawing cool temp's from the houses foundation :p

2x 42w & 2x 26w are still to be added to the area, this will happen when the rest of the clones are added.
