Glad I stopped by here tonight...awesome reports, bshdctr.

I really dig the Kind Creations setup you have there, nice piece. The Cannacaps intrigue me as well. I've made quite a few batches of tincture, but nothing like the canncaps you got there. Do you find it difficult to put the oil inside the caps? How do you do that without making a mess everywhere?

Awesome job man, I've enjoyed this thread thoroughly and it is nice to see a well-crafted end result.

Snafu,
Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. Making the cannacaps was actually really clean and easy. After warming the RS oil and wisking it with warmed coconut oil, it was pretty fluid in texture. I then used one hand to hold the large empty half of the capsule (they pull apart easily with a large "filling" side and a small "capping side") and the other hand to draw up the oil mixture with a tincture-bottle dropper and squeeze it into the empty cap. I then cap them and they are done! About 1 whole dropper would fill the cap about to its limit.

Here's how my 1st try at Pandora came out! :) View attachment 1991133
Nice dude! You should get some more close-up shots and post them up at the TGA Growers Club thread. You may want to cut some of that extra leafage off, the chlorophyll in it may compromise the sweet cherry lemon funkness that Pandora's Box is known for. Looks good though!

Thanks for the additional Pandy pics!

Bush, here's some interesting Pandora's Box pictures from my last harvest. Hopefully Medshed gets to see these too.

These are all from the same 10 pack of Pandora's Box, harvested before Christmas (around the 11th i think, cant remember exactly). They have been curing for about a month or so at 63-65% humidity in jars. Pictured below are three different phenotypes of Pandora's Box, with the bud on the far left being the Pandora's Box choice phenotype. Beautiful bag appeal, awesome smell, cherry-lemon funkness with hints and undertones of baby poo. Soaring, rushing high that is super social and makes me a blabbermouth.

The genetics are so stable in this phenotype that each plant literally looks like a carbon copy of the next. You can effectively grow this p[heno from seed and you wouldnt be able to tell the difference post-harvest if the buds were combined. I cant.
DSCN1388.jpgDSCN1389.jpgDSCN1366.jpg
The bud in the middle is Pandora's Box, but it is a lot more dense. Flavor profile is there, but the head is lacking. The least favorite of the three phenotypes. Interestingly enough, this plant looked the best while growing, it was just beautiful.

On the far right, it is also Pandora's Box, but this seems to be a much-more Jack The Ripper leaning phenotype (Sub or anyone else correct me if you feel as though I may be mistaken...I do not have much experience with JTR). It is pure fire, however. Super-strong, dank, wispy buds that hit ya where it counts. It produced well, with close to three ounces from one plant FIMed.

This is a shot of the choice Pandora's Box phenotype that you look for in a 10 pack. It's awesome, and my photography skills do no justice to the appearance of this bud in person. Honestly, this pic looks schwaggy when held up to the actual bud. Must get better at taking pictures and invest ina good camera.

For the sake of disclosure of all things that would be useful to others growing this strain, my second phenotype (Pandy #10) seems even more hungry than the first. I am running into Cal/Mag deficiencies in the first week of flowering. I fed her a little Botainacare CalMag (not my 1st choice but all I had around..) and top dressed with supersoil. Watered in some Myco Madness as well and the plant is responding positively so far to the treatments.

Take care everyone!

Nice. This has happened to me before. Solution? Everything you did. PLUS, I top dress some epsom salts and voila---never ran into that again.

DAMN SNAFU!
I posted my comment and BOOM! Pandora porn for my eyes :)
Looks freaking delicious. Its awesome to know that you can buy packs of seeds like Pandora's Box and Vortex and end up with so many beautiful plants. Pop a seed or two and probably come up with something special...gotta love it.
Thanks for your input to the thread! Pandora's Box simply kicks ass.

If you don't mind me asking; about how much Epsom do you top dress with? Anything needed to be blended with it for buffering or just work a little epsom salt into the top layer of soil?
Thanks-

Typically for a 3 gallon container I would do a teaspoon. For a 5-7gal or more about a tablespoon. Sprinkle it on the top.

What I do for Cal/Mag deficiency:
1. Water with Cal Mag for immediate resonance with the microherd.
2. Top dress with more concentrated base soil...in your case "Super Soil".
3. Sprinkle the according amount of epsom salts on top of the new Super-Soil layer.
4. Problem solved.

Nah, don't have to work the salts in....let nature do the work for you (by way of watering). KISS method.

Thanks for the comparison shots Snafu. That one in the middle looks pretty close to mine. I only grew one out so I figured there had to be better phenos out there. The JTR I just put in jars looks very close to the bud on the right. I'll do an update on my journal this weekend bit will say here that JTR blew the doors off AK and Ketama on the yield department. Pretty much 3x based on volume, but the buds are more wispy so I'd guess 2x on weight. I haven't smoked any of it yet, but the smell is already excellent fresh off the hangers and into the jars. It reminds me of Island Sweet Skunk I used to grow.

I miss the Island Sweet Skunk man! That was a favorite of mine.
I agree. I absolutely loved the smell, taste and high of that strain. I seemed to build tolerance to it after a while and stopped liking the high but I would still like it back. I think it would be a great cross with Pandora's Box or Kali Mist. It might pair nicely with JTR too.

Hey folks!
1st off, I hope that all of your days are going fantastic and 2012 is treating everyone with lots of love and dank so far :leaf: :-P.
Today I decided it may be a good idea to recap the life of my 2nd female plant I found in a 10 pack of TGA's Pandora's Box.

The plant was started in plain Roots Organic soil, and topped early directly after determining sex by placing the plant in 12/12 for several days. I will say briefly that I will not be doing that style of sexing again. It seemed not only to slow the plant down somewhat but also created small preflowers and 3 fingered leaves for while. Letting the plant just show naturally once reaching sexual maturity while still in veg seems much better to the plant.

DSCN1505.JPGDSCN1506.JPGDSCN1510.JPG

Once the plant was ready to transplant, It was transplanted to a 10 gal pot with Sub's Super Soil and plain Roots Organics soil at a ratio of about 60/40. The plant took fine to the transplant with no problems with burn at all.
DSCN1514.JPGDSCN1518.JPGDSCN1533.JPG

Fast forward about 10 weeks and the plant has vegged out nice and large. Up until this point the plant has received only water adjusted to 6.5ph. I learned a few things during this time. 1st thing- the plant needed additional cal/mag and this was addressed by watering in some liquid cal/mag, top dressing with SuperSoil, and also sprinkling in 1 T of epsom salt to the new super soil layer (thanks Snafu!). 2nd thing: DO NOT LET YOUR BULBS GO LONGER THAN THEY SHOULD BEFORE REPLACING!!! My veg bulb is past the 1 year mark and growth has slowed way down. Under a new Hortilux Blue bulb I'm sure this thing would either not have needed 10 weeks of veg, or it would be much larger!

DSCN1896.JPGDSCN1899.JPG

The plant is now at 26 days of flower and all is going good. The treatment I gave her worked great and she looks just fine now. Smells are starting to drift of the plant now and it is THE EXACT SAME as my other female at this point! JTR lemon, SQ cherry, skunky goodness, etc.... its all there! The resin seems a little slower to come on with this phenotype vs. the other one I have.....but it is starting to show itself now. I'll update again as things get fun in the coming weeks-

Thanks again TGA for doing what you guys do and thanks Titan for your passionate writing about Pandora's Box over on Green Passion, everything you said was true bredren!

Peace-

Glad to see you took my advice...even happier that you no longer have that problem.

The Pandora is looking nice....I love the review update you've done, it was a good idea and added a lot to this thread for people who haven't subbed up yet.

I hope the PB comes out well for you...it's great to see so many Pandora's Box grows popping up...when I first ran it around a year ago there wasn't alot of journals on it....mainly just one on another forum....i think overgrow or breedbay something...found it by way of the breeder Subcool. There was a grower there that had run it about 5-6 times, and I read through it all and produced some nice phenos in that run.

....had to edit this after I posted because I forgot to mention that I am actually smoking Pandora's Box right now as I typed all of this:) Almost two month cure now:)

P.s. I actually prefer PB at a 2 week cure, when it still taste like lemon cherries. After two months curing, it is still there, but a lot more subtle and a llot more 'earthy' tasting.
