You'll get software updates via the internet, instead if having to schedule a visit with the dealer. The last software performance update definitely got a lot of people's attention, and that was before the 'ludicrous speed' option was announced, lol

...and it will save you twenty five cents for every mile you drive it from the day you buy it forward... and you won't have to endure any ribbing about getting a cute lil toy car to save the planet, or being frustrated because that clap trap Mustang will beat you at the stoplight drags.

If you live near a Tesla Supercharging Station, they'll let you fill your battery for free... forever. I don't see the 'free forever' gas card with the new car instructions and owners manual on any gas powered car.

One more thing; it will still be worth owning after you've made the last payment. I've seen precious few Chrysler products lately that hold up to the abuse of actually being driven every day.

you should sell them. wonder how long it takes for a charge? wouldn't want to be at a supercharging station for 4 hours

2 days @110V
Overnight 30A@240V dryer plug
4 hours 50A@240V
There's a home charger available that goes even faster.

It's nice to always leave home full of charge.

At the station;
Supercharger DC (I don't remember the specs) gives 65% charge in 20 minutes
Battery swap station in 90 seconds.

Why doesn't the op just do this? Doesn't even have to be a Tesla. Lets not discuss this to much, but i ended up buying one. Greatest car the family ever owned. Clean energy bros!!!!!!!!! Again lets leave all this in pm's if we can.

The electric you used to charge the car was produced by burning coal, then half was wasted transmitting it to you. "Clean" my ass.

Excellent points, both of them- except that less than half the power generated for grid distribution comes from coal, and losing half of it em route to delivery is still less environmentally destructive than owning and operating an internal combustion vehicle of any kind, including hybrids.

That power loss in transmission is exactly why the purchase of a fuel cell home heating and power generation system will be competitive with utility bills.

Last I heard it was 80% US electricity produced with coal, but that figure may be out of date. Fuel cells are great if you have piped in gas. Less so if using bottled gas.
