Blue Lab PH pens are not good

Order from blue lab it’s a bit more expensive but you’re getting it straight from the source. Amazon has fakes out there. Mines been going for over 5 years. Store it in the solution or in water. Clean it up every month too. Calibrate every month. I’m going to try Hannah next tho.

Litmus paper is more than accurate enough for growing cannabis.

I like my bluelab leap probe so much. It can ph directly into the media, its replaceable , and very fast and accurate!

Yes it is as are the drops. I have a meter because my eyesight isn't 100%. I rarely use it though. I don't see any need to check everytime I mix up some nutrient solution. Once you've mixed the same stuff a couple of times if you need to adjust pH it's going to be the same each time.

Some people try and get it to a specific number and will fiddle around adding both pH down and up which is completely stupid. Some soil growers fiddle and fart around with runoff trying to get it to match what they put in. I have never once in my life checked pH when growing in soil. It was something that hydro growers do because it's necessary. Then soil growers wanted in on the action and cannabis growers like to spend money on gadgets so they all had to run out and buy a pH pen.

Local hydro store to me are stocking Apera for this exact reason and not bluelab anymore.

Having said that I have a 6 year old bluelab ph pen that will works well and still calibrates very well.

I've had that error on my old bluelab pen. It worked fine but was finicky to calibrate. If you did the calibration in the wrong order you get an error

It happens also when like I said you need new or better calibration fluid. Your fluid may be off or old

FWIW, I was told by a manufacturer to buy liquid calibration buffers rather than the powders.

The pH calibration powders work, but you're supposed to mix up a fresh batch each time, can't store the stuff very long for later use

Yeah I recommend just getting the proper bottled ph solutions for your pens. That guarantees it’s made properly and that the sensitivity is made for that pen

My BlueLab pH meter (and my EC meter) both work well better than the cheap 15$ or whatever meters I had before. The pH meter is more stable and consistent and holds calibration longer. I got reasonable pricing on each, and the pH was about 70$ shipped. Not enough to break the bank but definitely an upgrade from cheap.

Well, the Bluelab ph pen that I bought on May 27 died on me today. First is said "UR" with means the water was too cold, and the water was in the 70s. Then it read a bunch of 8s. I noticed there was water inside of the screen. Amazon's return policy is only a month, so I missed it by a couple of weeks. I read the recent reviews and a bunch of people were complaining. I'm not sure what's going on, but I think I'm done with Bluelab. $80 just thrown out the window and now I don't have a meter or anywhere to buy one real quick.

It’s worth emailing blue lab, in the circumstances they might replace it.
They're customer service is top notch.

Just contact bluelab and theyll replace it. You have to send your pen to them though

Isn’t bluelabs warranty a year?

I think the one lusid bought from a 3rd party was replaced with soon after purchase.
The 2nd was bought from Amazon iirc.
