Black dog led vs kind led

there is no LED that i know of that is UL listed. EVERY electrical device worth a shit in america is pretty much UL listed.
and trust me, these guys would kill for that UL listing
I'm pretty sure E-Papillon DE are "UL" listed and those were catching people's homes/warehouses on fire about 2-3 years ago. They actually had to get bought out of their warranty contract (Phive-8 Dist.) because they had such a high failure rate.
Certain areas in Colorado even restrict the residential use of DE because it was such an issue in 2014. I've seen a few Gavita's returned that were melted as well, but those had a much lower return rate.

always got to tell BS. That is the MSRP, not the price you can buy it for. you won't get that price difference on a LED unit. See OP, they ALWAYS have to LIE to SELL their shit. I have ONLY told the truth, no inflated BS.
Yeah I see a 25% off discount on Amare above. Fluence has price breaks. Growerslights offers 10-15% off regularly.

Have you filled him in on his AC needs for those DEs? I guess that cost don't count.

shit, you can even lowball them on the gavitas

450.00
Qty:
Price;make an offer

And for the record, he is not here to sell his lights, yet he just let you know all about them,LMFAO
Only because you bash on all these lights and I'm here to stop you from bullshitting this guy. You tell half truths because you in fact don't know what you are talking about which is what is called ignorance. Your cognitive bias will keep you blind while the world passes you by. Once again sad. Instead of doing reach and learning you spend your time defending your advice because you would rather die than be proven wrong.

Yeah OG hoods where UL listed too..... Massive recall starting fires. These lights aren't hard to ETL/UL just expensive and time consuming.
according to your buddy, it is difficult

these are growing companies that will soon be able afford the high cost and difficulty of UL certs.
And also WHY you posted The cert you DO have and that you are TRYING to get a UL listing. Mr.half truth

My point exactly.
That's why I used quotations around UL. The certification actually comes from MET which is a different underwriting company who meets the same minimum standards as UL.
MET # E113627

Gavita's are actually UL listed. Those were catching grows on fire. Just sayin.

So any grow that went up in flames that had a gavita. The gavita is automatically the culprit, not the stoners who wired them up, or cut the cord to meet their electrical needs, or put to many for their power usage. It must have been the manufactures fault. Yeah, score another one for home made LED lights.:dunce:

I work at Grow shop dude. I would see these all the time. And nobody was cutting their cord LOL.
Did you just make that up?
These are plug and play fixtures, how would one "mess up" the wiring? Don't you own one?

Companies don't warranty fixtures that were damaged due to operator error or if their product was tampered with. Plastic socket ends turned out to not be a very good idea. A lot of newer DE fixtures are using ceramic sockets now, so they don't melt and short out the contacts.

Also, I'm not advocating either light source. Just calling BS as I see it.

yeah, i know someone who got the first gavitas, that had the cords permanently attached. they were 220v units, they cut the cord and wired them up for 110v. then they wanted them warrantied. LOL

I also bet you got a lot returned because they didn't install the bulb properly.

LOTS haha. Stoners and electronics can be a dangerous duo!

Back to my original point. UL listing is nice and makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside, but it doesn't mean that there is nothing to worry about.
Nor does it speak to the build quality of the product.:joint:

Sure, any time you are using High powered anything, you need to take caution, why were always told never to leave ballasts on the ground. But I'll take my Ul listed gavita or even that over priced Ul listed LED unit I showed above, over some garage made jobby. No offense to Mr. half truth's company. i really do hope he gets a listing.

I bought a Phytomax 400 from Black Dog LED and completed one grow with it. Here's what I can say:
Blurple lights (which includes black dog and kind) are outdated by the newer COB fixtures. Black dogs are some of the highest priced blurple lights on the market, but comes with good build quality, a great warranty, and is plug and play. Black dog is certainly superior to Kind LEDs though in build quality and performance, however, I don't recommend anyone buys blurple lights in 2017+; it is no longer necessary.

Up until recently, most of the COB fixtures were DIY. They would be shipped in pieces and have to be assembled. I bought a black dog to avoid having to do any DIY. I really liked having the reliability of the black dog combined with the plug and play ease of use.

Nowadays, a few companies make plug and play COB fixtures (such as pacific light concepts). If I could do it over, I would have purchased one of those fixtures as they will give you the best gram per watt performance, far superior to any quality of blurple.

Keep in mind, the black dog did pay for itself ($1200) in the first grow with one plant. I'll be using it for once final grow and then replacing it with a COB fixture, reserving the black dog for only vegging.

You may want to confirm the umol/j of the chilled unit. 2.7 was at board level cold I believe. System levels are quite different. I'm sure it's up there though. Not knocking it at all just wanting as much accurate info as possible for the OP.
also thats over a broader 350-750 nm PAR spectrum so prob reporting 5-10% higher than other units with far red (ie those using 90 cri and prob to a lesser extent 80 cri) claim
